A timeless blend of heritage and modern craft.
Introducing a compact villa concept designed for Veraima Hotel, inspired by the ancient architectural grandeur of the Kandyan Kingdom — reflected through ornate carved timber doors and windows, warm earthy tones, layered hip roofing, and a symmetrical façade that echoes the craftsmanship of a bygone era.
Paired with a lush tropical landscape and brick-stepped entrance, this villa offers guests a luxury retreat deeply rooted in Sri Lankan cultural identity.

THE CANOPY HOUSE – KANDALAMA 🌿
Kandalama, Dambulla | Sri Lanka.

Designed as a quiet retreat immersed in nature, The Canopy House – Kandalama is a minimalist tourist cottage elevated above the landscape to respect the terrain and preserve natural flow.
The sloping roof, exposed textures, timber finishes, and open verandah are carefully composed to blur the boundary between architecture and the surrounding forest canopy.

This design prioritizes: • Natural ventilation & shaded living
• Minimal footprint on land
• Strong indoor–outdoor connection
• A calm, eco-conscious experience for travelers

This two-story minimalist residence is designed on a 6-perch urban plot, defined by pure cubic geometry, stark white surfaces, and lush pocket landscaping.
With a hidden roofline, blind walls, open-to-sky courtyard, and seamless indoor–outdoor flow, this design delivers a sleek, efficient, ultra-modern home with maximum privacy and elegance.
