Personalized Residence | Walisara

Nestled in the quiet suburban setting of Walisara, this bespoke residence was thoughtfully designed for a retired couple seeking a calm and meaningful lifestyle within a compact 11-perch property.

The architectural composition is divided into two distinct volumes, carefully balancing privacy and functionality. The main single-storey living block is positioned at the rear, accommodating a master suite with attached bathroom, a visitor’s bedroom, and an open-plan living and dining space. A central courtyard forms the heart of the home, creating a seamless connection between the living areas and pantry while enhancing natural light and cross ventilation.

The front two-storey block defines the street presence with a strong yet warm architectural expression. The ground floor integrates dual parking, while the upper level provides fully equipped maid’s quarters.

The design language embraces a contemporary interpretation of traditional Sri Lankan architecture. Earth-toned textured walls paired with olive green timber elements create a grounded and timeless aesthetic. The pitched roof finished with Sinhala Ulu clay tiles enhances internal volume while reinforcing a tropical architectural identity. Soft façade lighting further accentuates the materiality and depth of the elevation.

A home designed not just for living — but for peaceful retirement, familiarity, and comfort.

Set in the fast-developing coastal belt near Polhena Beach, Matara, this contemporary luxury boutique villa hotel is thoughtfully designed on a compact 14.27-perch land, with a total footprint of 6,145 sqft. The architecture reflects a calm, modern tropical character, harmoniously blended with earthy tones and natural textures to complement its lush surroundings.

The building expresses a bold yet elegant architectural language — clean geometric forms, layered cantilevered balconies, and expansive tempered glass railings that maximize views and natural light. Aluminum-framed windows and carefully oriented openings are strategically designed to capture ocean views from the upper floors, despite the site not being directly on the beachfront.

The project comprises:
• 6 luxury suites with attached bathrooms and private balconies overlooking the beach
• Ground floor reception, dining, and parking facilities
• First-floor relaxing pool deck
• Rooftop open garden with gym and pub
• Lift access to all floors with a dramatic feature staircase

Exposed exterior brickwork finished with weather-sealed primer enhances durability while adding texture and depth to the façade. The overall architectural concept was developed with careful consideration of site orientation, environmental conditions, and local authority regulations.

This project represents refined coastal living — a modern tropical retreat designed to deliver five-star comfort within the evolving hospitality landscape of Polhena.
