Public spaces succeed when they support intuitive use. Architecture influences how people move, gather, pause, and interact, often without conscious awareness. Clear circulation, spatial hierarchy, and legibility are essential in buildings where diverse users engage every day. When thoughtfully considered, spaces become accessible, inclusive, and easy to navigate.

Here are a few examples of projects we have undertaken where we carefully considered how to best integrate new structures into existing public environments. In contexts shaped by heavy daily movement, pedestrian flow becomes a central design priority. Especially in city centers, our approach focuses on ensuring that new interventions integrate seamlessly into their surroundings, supporting and enriching public life rather than competing with it.

Ultimately, the true measure of success is not only how a space looks, but how effortlessly it works.

Why does material choice matter?

Material selection directly affects how a building performs over time, from durability and maintenance costs to comfort, acoustics, and energy efficiency.

The right material choice can reduce long-term expenses, improve user experience, and ensure the building ages gracefully rather than requiring constant intervention. This is why we approach materials not as finishes, but as long-term investments that influence how a space functions for decades, not just how it looks on day one.

Architecture is shaped by people, time, weather, budgets, and real hands on site, and acknowledging this complexity is more honest than pretending buildings are ever executed exactly as the first drawing. In our practice, we’ve learned that small mistakes can lead to new discoveries and learning opportunities, when being open minded. We’re not speaking about structural failures or legal related issues, but quiet imperfections caused by human touch.

We are not afraid to point out these moments openly. Not as errors to apologise for, but as evidence of process, decision-making, and compromise. Often, what is labelled a “mistake” gives a space more tension, depth, or life than the original idea ever could. Perfection can be impressive, but imperfection tells the real story of a building, and that is where architecture becomes human.

Looking at this image, you might not even notice the “mistake”, can you?

Throwback to our architects’ excursion at the Lost Shtetl Museum!

Big thank you to the Design Architects from LMA Rainer Mahlamäki and Ilkka Syrjäkari, and our very own Executive Architect Augustas Audėjaitis who gave insightful speeches about the project and its creative process.

We organized 3 tours during the event:

1. A deep dive into the museum’s architecture and technical aspects, where guests had the honor of hearing first-hand about the project from Rainer Mahlamäki, who personally led the excursion, accompanied by Augustas Audėjaitis.

2. A tour of the beautiful surrounding park designed by ENEA Landscape, presented by Gedimas Vainauskas.

3. Finally, a captivating experience inside the exhibition itself, created by RAA executed Hypsos, and brought to life by the museum’s guides, accompanied by talented actors, who shared the powerful history preserved in the Lost Shtetl Museum.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and to all who made this event possible!
