Bērnudārzs 280 bērniem ir lielākais Latvijā pēdējo trīsdesmit gadu laikā, kas veidots pēc labākajiem mūsdienu standartiem ne tikai arhitektūras un interjera, bet arī pirmsskolas izglītības metodikas ziņā. Arhitekta G.Vīksnas birojs koncepcija bija balstīta Margaritas Stārastes stāstā par Zīļuku, kurš devās apgūt pasauli. Ierosme gūta no ielas nosaukuma, kurā atrodas novietne, – Ozolu ielas, uz kuras ir arī Mārupes sākumskola. No ozola un ozollapas atvasināta ideja par ēkas formu un teritorijas labiekārtojumu. No tā attiecīgi tika izveidots arī bērnudārza nosaukums, jo, ieliekot citu nosaukumu, nojuktu viss stāsts, tam nebūtu vairs nekādas saiknes ar arhitektūru. Plašāk Anita Pīra
The kindergarten for 280 children is the largest in Latvia in the last thirty years, designed according to the best modern architectural and interior standards. The architect Gundars Vīksna took the idea from the name of Ozolu iela (translating as Oak Street), where the kindergarten and Mārupe Primary School are located. The concept of the building is based on the story by the writer Margarita Stāraste about the Little Acorn (in Latvian – Zīļuks) who fell from a tree and went to learn about the world, saw fungi, flies, beetles and other things and learned from them. The idea of the shape of the building is derived from the oak leaf and the philosophy of the story is embedded in the interior design and landscaping of the building.
