HOUSE IN ENGURE

Peaceful holiday retreat..
emphasizing the local materials and simple architecture forms that reveal there true character from the inside. 

Despite the dark, coal facade of the main house, crafted using the traditional Japanese wood preservation technique Shou Sugi Ban, the home captures the essence of its surroundings. Inside, large openings and a thoughtful layout warmly welcome every guest.

A terrace that wraps around both volumes extends the living spaces, and features like the outdoor shower invite a seamless connection with nature.

This family house will sit between forest and sea, where nature defines the architecture. It is carefully positioned to follow the sun path, opening to the meadow and evening light while protecting privacy from neighbors. A rational planning and balance with a poetic connection to nature.
