Finished at last. Now all I need to do is decide what I am going to do with it. As I get older, I struggle with "things " or "stuff" that have no purpose, so simply framing this and displaying on a wall isn't really ticking a box in the best way. It may end up being on a panel of a bag.

2023 Celebration Criss stitch to commemorate the King's Coronation almost done. Had a slight issue a couple nights ago with a wobbly table and a glass of Rosè wine, which resulted in the cross stitch going for a dunk very quickly in water. I think its ok, almost all of the white had been done, so hopefully any colour difference won't show. I'll post when the project is complete.

I think I've found my next make. Took a ride on my trusty bicycle to the Boulongerie to pick up some fresh bread. I have seen in other places that local folk have long thin canvas bags made for the purpose. Maybe I need to make one when I get back home! Lucky I had my Cactus bag that had brought home from her recent holiday. ❤️❤️

Hopefully the warmer weather along with longer days is finally here. Wednesday 6th May, Crafty Sewcial 10am.

If you don’t want to come on your own bring a friend. We are a small group of mixed crafting and mixed abilities. It doesn’t matter what you do, it’s more about the social side and not sitting home on your own.

Not the day I originally had planned, so decided to make a bag that has been talked about for ages. Circa 2019, I stripped a couple of old sofas for their leather to make instrument bags. Fast forward to 2026, I decided ripstop may be a better option as it is waterproof. That lead to me turning out lots of leather that I had saved. On to Marketplace the pile went and has been collected by someone from Cheddar who works with leather from sofas.

The material was offcuts from previous projects, the foam acquired free a couple years ago, the thread was gifted to as surplus from elsewhere. The only bits used from supplies I have bought myself are the zip and webbing for the handles.

Anyone who knows me will understand why when I go away, I always take something with me to do. This holiday I have brought my current knitting project, knitted squares towards a blanket to donate to HM Royal Marines and my cross stitch from the King's Coronation. The parcel is some material that I bought whilst out discovering Agadir a couple days ago.
