Our proposal for the IBN BATOUTA International Airport in Tangier secured the 5th place in the architecture contest. Grateful for the acknowledgment of our team’s effort and expertise.
Our design philosophy seamlessly intertwines free-form dynamics with minimalist elegance, creating a sophisticated and distinct experience across the 55,000m² of the site of project. The sleek lines, infused with organic elements, harmoniously reflect the city’s essence.
At the heart of this design is the public hall, a dynamic space that serves both departing and arriving passengers. This hall is not just a gateway but a central point where the architectural dance unfolds with the the key feature strategically positioned opening at the top of the building, designed in a dancing rhythm that elegantly follows the forms dictated by functionality. These thoughtfully placed openings serve as a choreographed interplay, allowing natural daylight to cascade into the interior spaces, enhancing the atmosphere. Picture standing in the public hall, surrounded by modern aesthetics, as the forms dance above, providing a dynamic and visually stunning experience.
As day transitions to night, the architectural dance continues, with the opening in the top of the building offering glimpses of the starlit sky, creating a poetic ambiance for arriving and departing passengers alike.
More than just an airport, Tanger Airport blends style with functionality, creating a cohesive and consistent experience from arrival to departure. Traverse from the exterior to the heart of the building in the public hall, and step into the future of air travel in Tanger – where architectural marvel meets the fluidity of a well-designed program.
