Led by QP Partner, Justin Mizzi and EY Malta’s Gilbert Guillaumier, QP hosted the first edition of our new advisory talks series in collaboration with EY Malta, bringing together key stakeholders from Malta’s retail, real estate and banking sectors for an exclusive preview of the EY Malta & QP Malta Shopping Mall Study.

The session served as a soft launch of the study, presenting early findings from the EY Future Consumer Survey, the Malta Shopping Mall Study and recent stakeholder research, followed by an open Q&A, discussion and debate. The feedback gathered will now help shape the final version of the study, which is set to launch publicly later this year.

This marks the beginning of a new advisory series hosted at QP, designed to bring industry leaders together around the topics shaping Malta’s built environment, commercial landscape and long-term development.

With the successful completion of the Xehda Project for HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c., we’re proud to reflect on an incredible journey. Our Cost Management and Project Management teams at QP played a key role in transforming HSBC’s Qormi campus into a modern, sustainable and future-ready environment.

Originally appointed to manage the major works, our role evolved throughout the project to include overseeing a wider team of contractors, suppliers and consultants across the site. Thanks to the trust placed in us by HSBC, we were also entrusted with managing additional key areas, including the Z&C Car Park and the HUB Landscaping.

The completion of this landmark project is a testament to the collaborative effort, resilience and dedication of everyone involved. We are delighted to have contributed to delivering a development that will serve HSBC for years to come.

Reuben Xuereb, Chairman and CEO of QP, joined the EMEIA Conference 2026 today as a panellist for the discussion on Geopolitics and its Impact on Global Business.

Moderated by Dr Christian Farrugia of FFF Legal, the panel brought together leaders from across sectors to explore how shifting geopolitical realities are influencing business decisions, international growth and long-term strategic planning.

Drawing on more than 25 years of experience in real estate development across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, Reuben shared perspectives shaped by his work in acquisitions, master planning, fund structuring and complex mixed-use developments.

Among the key themes discussed was the dual nature of geopolitical change. As Reuben noted, “Geopolitics creates uncertainty in affected markets. It also presents opportunities to those who can identify the needs that must be met.”

The conversation also highlighted the importance of confidence in driving investment and long-term value creation. “Capital follows confidence. Our job is to turn liquidity in motion into opportunity that stays.”

His participation reflects QP’s continued engagement in conversations that shape the future of business, development and cross-border collaboration.

What happens when a tourism industry built on growth reaches a turning point?

In By Design or By Default featured on MONEY magazine , QP Senior Partner Justin Mizzi explores Malta’s evolving tourism landscape and the growing need to prioritise quality, infrastructure and long-term planning over expansion alone.

The article examines how more intentional development, stronger regulation and a clearer vision for the built environment can help create better experiences for visitors while protecting the character and liveability of Malta itself.

At QP, these conversations are closely connected to the work we do every day: helping shape projects and places through strategic thinking, technical rigour and a long-term perspective.

A strong contribution by Justin to an important national conversation.

At QP and DesignEQ, we don't just deliver projects, we build what's next.

Our 2026 first quarter team gathering was rooted in one powerful idea: Beyond Blueprint.

A moment to pause, reflect and challenge ourselves to think bigger - beyond plans, beyond limits, beyond what's expected.

Because real growth happens in the field, on site and in the details. It happens when a team this talented decides to push further - together.

We aligned on where we're going. We embraced the momentum we've built across Malta, London, Dubai and Egypt. And we committed to the next chapter.

Driven by ambition. Grounded in purpose. Focused on what matters.

Here's to going beyond.

The first quarter of 2026 marked an important chapter for QP and DesignEQ, shaped not only by project progress and delivery, but by the people driving it forward.

Bringing together teams from Malta, London, Dubai and Egypt, our quarterly gathering created space to reflect on the momentum built across disciplines, projects and regions, while aligning around the opportunities ahead.

From strategic discussions to on-site collaboration, this quarter reinforced the value of shared thinking, technical excellence and a collective commitment to raising standards across everything we undertake.

More than a review of progress, it was a reminder of the strength behind our teams and the importance of moving forward with clarity, ambition and purpose.

Congratulations to Edward on this important contribution to the national conversation on Malta’s built environment.
