A Motorway Named Rio

Wrapping up by announcing the release of our interdisciplinary project's book, A Motorway named Rio, which is the result of an International Workshop between UASLP and Oslo University, where we re-imagined the future of San Luis Potosí and its paved stream, Rio Santiago.

In this urban intervention, three key challenges were tackled: activating the riversides for active travel and public space, addressing social inequality, and combating urban flooding through SUDs and green infrastructure.

Early studies on a regenerative jungle retreat 🌿

Learning to live and coevolve with nature is a touchstone for this project, trees are an important part of the living community that inhabits this hábitat and we have a lot to learn from them, living with them. The design concept goes back to the history of how the Mayan civilization learnt to relate and benefit from trees in a respectful way. These tests are about playing with the main elements that create spaces to live among the trees.
