Our project 084 Image-Aided Construction / Brick Towers has been selected as a Special Mention in the Architecture + Innovation category of the 2026 Architizer A+ Awards.

Presented at Mextrópoli 2024 in Mexico City, Brick Towers consists of three seemingly random piles of bricks, each carrying a graphic pattern that reconstructs the continuity of a projected digital image. Every brick is assigned a unique code that locates it within the image — allowing accurate geometry reconstruction without specialized equipment on site.

The project is an experiment into the potential of digital printing on brick to assist construction, supplement traditional representation techniques, and expand the possibilities of one of architecture’s oldest materials.

We are happy to contribute to the exhibition Atlas de Arquitectura Contemporánea en México at Museo Amparo (September 20, 2025 – March 2, 2026), curated by Pablo Landa.

Our participation is part of the section Objects for the Future. For this room, Estudio Estudio (Inés and Nuria Benítez) invited a group of young practices to select an object that could help understand the current landscape of architecture in Mexico.

Our contribution, Spirit of the Moment (2025) satirizes the homogenization of contemporary taste and denounces its prejudiced understanding of neutrality as a virtue. Beigeification™ names a cultural phenomenon in which fear of risk gives rise to aesthetics of consensus—where beige is not a color, but an ideology.

In 2018 we initiated the organization of an exhibition gathering 32 emerging Mexican architectural practices around the notion of the Architectural Plan(t).

The works exhibited consisted of architecturally intervened plants, and their corresponding plan drawings.

The show was on view at ARCHIVO Diseño y Arquitectura—the space formerly dedicated to house Fernando Romero’s design object collection—today the space from where he runs his practice.

The talk will be followed by a conversation with Pablo Sequero, Greg Corso, Rosita Palladino, Magdalena Valdevenito, and Edgar Rodríguez, exploring public space, temporary architectures, and the legacy of a decade of one of today’s most influential architecture festivals.

The exhibition “In Process: Alternative Methods in Reading Evolving Buildings” is opening this evening at 5:30 pm in the Marble Room, Slocum Hall.

This project is the outcome of a two-year long collaboration between Ayesha Ghosh, Edgar Rodríguez, Laura Salazar, Lauren Scott, Magdalena Valdevenito, Pablo Sequero, and Rocio Crosetto Brizzio.

Special thanks to Anna Morgowicz for documenting the interventions we built on site last year and to our collaborators Eric Ma, Joe Zhao, and Daniel Vilchis who were instrumental in the production of this show.

The work reflects on the Gere Block, a former industrial building on the Erie Canal, and proposes an alternative form of adaptive reuse through strategies of observation and documentation — one that is minimal, intentional, and attentive to history.

The exhibition is comprised of drawings, models, photographs, and archival documents that are brought together to produce meaning between fragmentary views of the building — an inherently architectural way of seeing and making sense of the world.

This project was made possible with the support from the Architectural League of New York and the New York State Council on the Arts, through the 2024 Independent Projects Grant.
