Acre 2030 Master Plan
Images that speak about our work at a broader scale.

This project began with a deep diagnostic analysis of an existing hotel in the Baja California desert — understanding its flows, its landscape, and its untapped potential. From there, we developed a strategic proposal for growth, rooted in enhancing both the value of the land and the quality of the user experience.

The approach is not about adding more, but about revealing what is already there — working with the desert, not against it.
Architecture as a tool to frame territory, guide experience, and build long-term value.

Casa Higuera Blanca
[description]
Perched atop a former sand-mining plateau overlooking Bahía de Banderas and the Punta Mita peninsula, Casa Higuera Blanca transforms a landscape altered by extraction into a self-sufficient dwelling. The project occupies the flattened mesa left after the mountain was previously used as a sand mine, using this artificial plateau as the foundation for a circular plan. With no neighboring architecture or built references nearby, the geometry responds exclusively to the natural surroundings, extending views toward the ocean, mountains, and jungle. Developed as a single-level ring, portions of the house are embedded into the terrain while others project outward. Entirely off the grid, it reinterprets the traditional palapa in concrete.

Acre Haciendas (2024)
The project consists of an intervention on a residential scheme originally designed by Héctor Esrawe for Acre Hotel in the Baja California desert.

The commission addressed a fundamental climatic need: to create shade for the exterior living spaces of the houses, which were previously exposed to intense solar radiation and radiated heat throughout the day.

Our proposal draws inspiration from the archetype of the traditional house organized around a central atrium. By reintroducing this spatial logic, we conceived a shaded perimeter that frames a central courtyard incorporating water as a cooling element. The intervention transforms the exterior from a residual, overheated surface into the social and environmental core of the dwelling.

The proposed structures are hybrid systems, combining metal profiles, timber, and palo de arco, a local natural fiber. These layered materials filter light, generate shadow, and allow air to circulate freely, creating a sequence of protected outdoor rooms.

Acre SPA

The intervention consists of a series of wooden bridges and shading structures inserted within the void between existing constructions at Acre Hotel. Rather than occupying a single volume, the project inhabits the space between buildings, transforming absence into program.

Like an organism adhering to its host, the structure attaches lightly to the existing volumes, connecting them through elevated walkways and shaded thresholds. Timber elements filter the desert light, creating an atmosphere of shadow and relief while guiding movement through the spa.

The result is an architecture defined by connection rather than enclosure—a spatial sequence that emerges from within the gaps of the existing site.
