𝐂𝐏𝐂 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐊𝐈 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥, 𝐈𝐩𝐨𝐡

Today, our team carried out the CPC inspection for IKI Hotel (粋). Located at a strategic city-centre location, this Japanese-inspired boutique hotel draws its name from the Japanese concept of Iki—an appreciation of refined simplicity, understated elegance, and togetherness.

The design embraces a warm palette of terracotta and beige tones, complemented by natural timber elements and ventilated breeze blocks that filter light and air throughout the spaces. Together, these materials create a calm and inviting atmosphere that responds sensitively to both the tropical climate and the urban character of Ipoh.

The overall workmanship is generally satisfactory, and we look forward to welcoming guests when the hotel opens its doors this August.

𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐊𝐊 🇯🇵

This was certainly one of the most eye-opening, inspiring, and genuinely warm trips I’ve had in a long time.

We had the opportunity to visit the SKK Headquarters in Osaka, along with several remarkable projects in the region featuring SKK paints and finishes.

Among the highlights were the Cultural and Children’s Complex (Toyo Ito), Harukas 300 (César Pelli), Ace Hotel (Kengo Kuma), The Gate Hotel (Takenaka), Kansai International Airport, and many more.

Witnessing the incredible range of products and innovations developed by SKK was truly mind-blowing. It was also reassuring to learn that many of these high-quality materials remain comparatively affordable despite today’s global uncertainties.

More importantly, what made this trip truly memorable were the people. Grateful for the meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and the brotherhood-like friendships formed throughout the journey — connections that I believe will last a lifetime.

Honoured to be invited by Assoc. Prof. ZhenYuan Yang to review mid-term student work at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Shenzhen University.

The review focused on urban planning, and it was an eye-opening experience—the scale of projects and design thinking in Shenzhen are remarkable. As one of China’s most forward-looking and fast-evolving cities, it offers a very different perspective on urban development compared to Southeast Asia.

The exchange with both students and faculty has been deeply inspiring, offering valuable insights for the continued growth of our practice.

Our BYD showroom in Ipoh has been awarded the 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 (𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐂 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓) - Best Layout Design by BYD Auto Headquarters China — one of only 3 out of 700 showrooms across the Asia-Pacific network.

At the same time, the project has successfully achieved CPC & CCC with minimal defects — a rare alignment of design excellence and delivery precision.

From recognition on stage in Shenzhen to completion on site in Ipoh, this is truly a moment of double celebration for our team and client. A step forward in our continued commitment to support the growth of EV mobility and a more sustainable automotive future.
