Calathea plants are some of the most beautiful houseplants around.Calathea can be very polarizing in the houseplant world—people seem to either love them or hate them. And that’s understandable, because a calathea can be a bit of a diva. But once you figure out what they need to be happy in your home, they can be relatively straightforward to maintain.

Instructions

Avoid direct light. Bright direct sun will fade and burn your calathea. Stick to medium, indirect light.

Water thoroughly. Water when the top inch of soil is dry, and slowly add water until you see it coming out of the drainage hole of the pot.

Use the right water. Calathea is sensitive to the quality of its water. Stick with distilled water, rainwater, or filtered tap water that has been dechlorinated.

Aerate often. Gently poke a wooden chopstick into the surface of the soil before watering on a regular basis. This will help air and water circulate and reach all of the roots.

Keep it humid. Calathea thrive in humidity, and the leaves will curl or brown if the air is too dry. Use a humidifier, put the pot on a pebble tray, or group

Light: Rubber plants prefer bright, indirect light that isn’t too hot. Direct sunlight can result in scorched leaves. You can keep your rubber plant near a window with a sheer curtain to give it just the right amount of sunlight. The more variegated varieties need more light to help bring out their colors, so make sure they especially get enough bright light.

Water care header

Water: These plants require more water during their growing season in the summer. You should keep the soil moist, but not drowning. You should also wipe the leaves down with a damp cloth to keep them moist and to help your plant absorb more sunlight. Misting is another option if you don’t want to wipe down every leaf. Keep your rubber plant in well-draining soil at all times to combat root rot.

In their dormant season in the winter you want to keep the soil dry but not too dry. Let the top few inches of the soil dry in between waterings to make sure you don’t overwater. If the leaves start to droop, then your rubber plant is telling you it needs more water.

FLAME VIOLET PLANT

Episcias are lovely trailing plants native to Central and South America, Brazil, and the West Indies. An Episcia plant is grown for its colorful textured leaves and small but pretty flowers. The most popular variety of the Episcia plant is the Flame Violet which has silver veined leaves and bears tubular bright pink or orange-red flowers about 3/4″ in size. The Episcia has never become as popular as its close relative the African Violet because they require more care. Episcias grow in a very unique manner. Each plant sends out runners called stolons which trail over the edge of the container or across the soil in the pot. New plants are propagated from these runners.This is a beautiful unique houseplant, but not a good plant for beginners.

SYNGONIUM SERIES COMBO (4 IN 1)

Syngonium is a genus of flowering plants in the family Araceae, native to tropical rainforests in southern Mexico, the West Indies, Central and South America. They are woody vines growing to heights of 10–20 m.

Although they start out as compact well rounded indoor plants, Arrowhead vines, as the name implies, want to spread out and extended in all directions. There are some varieties like the allusion series that tend to stay more compact. Syngonium varieties are easy care plants as long as you remember to water them. They are low light tolerant houseplants and will grow virtually anywhere in your home. Their leaves display a wide range of colors and patterning, so choose the one that best fits your personality.

Light

Although these plants are extremely low light tolerant, they will grow faster and maintain their vibrant coloring and markings if grown in medium to bright indirect light. Direct sun will scorch their leaves
