This is a new build bungalow for a family of 9 across 3 generations in Bukit Jelutong. The spaces are thoughtfully curated for the family members to optimise privacy amongst each of them.

Being a tropical house, the building is designed with a double volume central space to optimise cross ventilation throughout the house. It is noteworthy to point out that the ground floor and all the shared spaces are naturally ventilated. The house is orientated against the east-west sun and to further embrace green design principles, photovoltaic panels and an all integrated rainwater harvesting system are designed into the building.

The project revolves around a timeless bungalow in Hulu Langat which was built in the 1980s. We work with the new owners, who are advertising executives with an extensive art collection, to revive the bungalow to its new glory.

The subject property had undergone several ill-conceived renovations through the years. We removed several walls and makeshift spaces to achieve an open plan house on the ground floor. The interior of the house is also given a substantive makeover with sensitive architectural detailing to respect the original architecture of the house.

The proposed riverine park of Sungai Kelian is a community-driven project spearheaded by Tanjung Bungah residents who formed the Friends of Sungai Kelian (FoSK). We work with FoSK, together with the Tanjung Bungah Resident Association (TBRA), the City Council of Penang Island (MBPP) and the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) to design linkage of 2 MBPP-managed neighbourhood parks with the river reserve along the Sungai Kelian. The project is presently at different stages of implementation, including the introduction of urban farming initiatives by the river.

Upper Penang Road is located on the northern end of Penang Road in George Town, Penang. It is one of the oldest roads in historic George Town.

The project calls for the activation of the Upper Penang Road precinct. At approx. 2 acres, it is the largest development in the George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site undertaken by a private landowner. Upper Penang Road which is bounded by Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah and Lebuh Farquhar is the only pedestrianized vehicular road in inner George Town. It is presently underutilized and the Category 2 heritage buildings at the precinct are abandoned due to the changing economic landscape.

The Garage building on Upper Penang Road is a gazetted Category 2 heritage asset in the George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is constructed in 1936 by the Wearne’s Brother as a motorcar showroom - the first of its kind on Penang Island. It is also the first column-free building in the country. The Garage to this day is an understated utilitarian building graced with subtle art-décor architectural detailing.

The proposed adaptive-reused of the building has strategically manoeuvred the highly regulated heritage and conservation guidelines of the Penang City Council and obtained its pre-planning approval in May 2020.
