Hoe Design Architect is an architect's firm specializing in residential, hotel resort and industrial projects founded by Ar. Eric Wong had established a sister company, HOD Design Consultancy, to provide interior and furniture design services. H.O.D provide one-stop modern contemporary architecture, furniture and interior design services, and market H.O.D designed furniture. We are LAM
(Board Of Architects Malaysia) registered Professional Architect providing full scope of architectural services from conceptual design, design development, tender documentation, contract and project administration, to completion of the project. We provide furniture design service and market H.O.D brand furniture that is exclusively designed by us and manufactured by our established partnering manufacturers to individual users, sourcing companies and distributors. We provide interior design tailor-made to each project's requirements, which emphasizes spatial quality, user experience and functionality. The mantra of H.O.D is to provide quality architecture, furniture products and interior design that are connected to people. We aspire to evoke awareness of cultural roots, whereby the values are extracted, distilled and imbued into our designs, and reinterpreted with contemporary design vocabulary. Our works are crafted through contextually sensitive designs that people are emotionally attached to. We emphasize space as the main generator of building design – Form follows Space. From 2017 to 2020, H.O.D had been invited to contribute furniture designs for the acclaimed Professional Designers Programme (PDP), an event organised annually by the Malaysian Timber Industry Council (MTIB) under the support of the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities Malaysia, held in conjunction with the Export Furniture Exhibition (EFE), and South East Asia’s biggest furniture fair in the Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF). Besides, H.O.D was invited by the Fiber And Biocomposite Development Centre (FIDEC) Of MTIB in 2021 to contribute furniture design using local bamboo-based biocomposite product, with the aims of promoting environmentally sustainable alternatives and diversifying raw materials for local furniture industry. In 2023 and 2024, H.O.D also had contributed designs for the Timb3r Design Incubator Programme (DIP) 2.0 and 3.0. These programmes were organised by the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) with the objectives of elevating the design quality of Malaysian furniture to international level and promoting top Malaysian furniture design to the world. The products had been exhibited at the Export Furniture Exhibition (EFE) 2023 and 2024 respectively, held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Kuala Lumpur. www.hodesign.co
