Before addressing this matter, we would like to acknowledge Datuk Superintendent (Ret.) Paul Kiong. We have great respect for his distinguished service to Malaysia and the sacrifices he made throughout his policing career. We were genuinely saddened to hear of his reported health issues last year and are pleased to see him attending public events and launching his memoir. We sincerely wish him continued good health and happiness.

This matter does not involve Datuk Paul Kiong in any way. It relates solely to a personal loan made to Gerard Kiong, who requested financial assistance from us last year.

In May 2025, Gerard Kiong requested a personal loan of RM9,000, explaining that he urgently needed financial assistance to pay for medical expenses relating to his father. He promised to repay the loan within one month.

It has now been over 14 months. Despite numerous acknowledgements of the debt and many promised repayment dates, the loan remains unpaid.

We have attempted to resolve this matter privately for more than a year through patient and respectful communication.

Gerard, we are still inviting you to contact us privately so this matter can be resolved professionally. Once the loan is repaid, we will publicly acknowledge that the matter has been settled.
