Our studio workbench is usually filled with handbags, they're our absolute first love. But when building this business, we were taught that real leather restoration goes beyond just bags!

We use the time-tested techniques to restore leather that includes shoes, wallets, small leather goods, jackets & other heirloom pieces. Every item is treated case-by-case, matching original stitching patterns and leather finishes to preserve the character you love, rather than changing it wholly. 🪡

🧡 Offline, we’re known as Leather Biz. Our IG handle was a nickname given to Dad because he had a way of breathing new life into leather & it just stuck! We’ve struggled letting that name go!

🧡 Watching Mom & Dad build this business from the ground up has been the masterclass of a lifetime! I still hear Dad’s words of wisdom in my head. Today, Mom and I are moving forward together, using his time-tested techniques while learning new ones.

Our mission hasn’t changed: To know is to honor.

The ultimate heartbreak đź’”

You got your dream bag, worn it, kept it only to find out it's peeling all over your shirt, cupboard and floor. You think it's your fault. But we're here to tell you that it isn't! The material is less like leather, and more like synthetic. In the KL humidity, it breaks down faster that you can spell G-a-b-r-i-e-l-l-e.

There aren't any shortcut fixes for this - no amount of leather repair. But a total leather replacement (to genuine lambskin leather) is recommended for this.

Here's a vintage classic that our team has seen time & time again in our restoration studio. Its iconic structure makes it a unique candidate for luxury bag repair but after decades, here's what we think.

The Lady Dior Report:
đź‘Ť Lambskin is incredibly restorable (even with its reputation of being fragile). While prone to slouching because of hardware weight, its shape can be revived by bag-reshaping services.

đź‘ŽThe quilt is the heart of this bag. If the internal padding has disintegrated or the bag has lost its stiff, silhouette, it requires a much deeper "surgical" fix.

Pro Tip: Don't wait for the structure to go. Addressing surface wear early is the best way to maintain the value of your investment. Keep bags well (not squished in between bags) to maintain quilts.

It’s always the hidden places you can’t see that have the most.

We were deep-cleaning the back pocket of a client’s bag today, and this was what came out after just one swipe.

It’s easy to forget that the hidden parts can also become dirty. It quietly collects the "extras" of our daily lives: dust, pet hair, your own hair, oils.

While it's "gross", it's also proof that your bag that is well-loved & well-traveled. But every so often, the leather needs to breathe again.

Over a decade in leather restoration, we've seen countless shoes.

But time & time again, we hear one common thing from our Clients, "I thought keeping them in the box and dustbag will protect them". It can to a certain level, but Malaysia's weather is unforgiving. The constant heat & moisture can cause mold growth + break down rubber soles.

It’s a common mistake, we think we're protecting our investment but instead the opposite happens! So when these Hermes shoes arrived, we got to work. Cleaned, restored & nourished back to life.
