Jincheng Avenue Metro Station, by J&A and  based on the theme of ECOLOGY & LAKE LOTUS.

“Our main aim in the design of Chengdu metro stations was to `provoke emotions`. There are some metro stations around the world that do that, but not many. Metro stations in central Moscow are a great example of how to take the design to another level and go beyond the functional and regulatory requirements. Chengdu metro stations are not going to be merely points of transit. They are going to be memorable spaces that offer their passengers an artistic and futuristic expression of their own culture”, Reza Esmaeeli

Chengdu Metro Line 9 Standad Station

The general design concept of Chengdu Metro Line 9 Stations is based on the rich culture of Embroidery and Silk Weaving in this city.

The inspiration of the design underlies all various components of the interiors of the space, by means of using continuous movements of the lines, use and mix of various lighting techniques and colours, exhibitory elements such as time capsules and artworks in different stations, and incorporation of art and different installations.

There are 9 Standard Stations in first phase of Line 9 in Chengdu.

Cuqiao Metro Station, as seen on today:

"J&A and  have created a series of station interiors based on forms and patterns found in nature for the first unmanned metro line in Chengdu, China.
Designed to provoke emotion among their visitors, the 13 stations feature fluid forms and cellular patterns informed by the local tradition of silk weaving as well as the flora and fauna found in surrounding parks."

Our Architectural Proposal for Dongjak-Gu Administration Complex, Seoul, South Korea
Recreation of the local market that will be demolished in a way that complies with modern life needs, while keeping its traditional essence has been a key challenge for design of this project. Our Architectural Proposal for Dongjak-Gu Administration Complex, Seoul, South Korea
The façade of the existing building has been proposed to generally remain the same to minimise the works and cost of remodelling. However, some elements of the new façade such as its spandrels will partially run over the facade of the existing building to create harmony between the new and the old.

Our Architectural Proposal for Dongjak-Gu Administration Complex, Seoul, South Korea
Achieving an optimized massing diagram that correlates to the various programs of the buildings, their context and site conditions and the climatic conditions of Seoul has been our key objective in the urban planning and massing of this multi-use governmental building.
Following parameters have played the key role in defining our project’s mass: Existing Building, Axis to/from the Subway, Context and Climate Conditions, Humane Perception

Our Architectural Proposal for Dongjak-Gu Administration Complex, Seoul, South Korea
The juxtaposition of various volumes of the project, overlapping the programs horizontally and vertically were all to create variety and flexibility of use. The massing of the complex was designed to achieve a skyline that is humane and has a human scale.

Our Architectural Proposal for Dongjak-Gu Administration Complex, Seoul, South Korea
We envisaged this Complex as a mini-city in its own rights. It was important to us that the overall feel and experience of the project is a continuous one that creates a and atmosphere for the residents and staff. This design was meant to push the conventional concept of the government building by creating three types of zones – for the , with the community, by the community.
