Established in 2017, DOMA INITIATIVES is Malaysia’s first independent architecture programme that aims to examine contemporary issues in architectural theory and practice inspired by the built environment. The programme is spearheaded by the bespoke DOMA INITIATIVES Lecture Series, an epistemic series of lectures by internationally renowned architects and designers for the benefit of the local arc
hitectural and design community, governing authorities and the public. A reciprocal binary model to promote the country’s talents overseas is also part of its thrust to promote inspiring talks from engaging speakers with new insights and fascinating ideas. DOMA INITIATIVES is a non-profit programme that also seeks to create other architectural initiatives such as workshops, symposia, exhibitions and publications to promote excellence in architecture and design. DOMA INITIATIVES supported by Taylor’s University School of Architecture, Building and Design and consonant industry supporters aspire to inspire new ways of thinking about architecture to champion the power of architecture to transform lives and improve the places where we live and work to benefit everyone.
