Skypark Zoned Condominium,

Concept - 4 zones of 12 storey duplex condominiums stacked upon one another to create a high rise Parkland Condominium for each zone. Each zone will serviced independently of one another with two tier access and circulation for each individual zoned.

Parking will be exclusive allocation for each zone with lifts to take them direct to the zone main level.

The zone main level contain reception, common facilities, lounge and lifts to the 12 floors of the respective zone residences. Zone main level will also have great landscaping, jogging paths, exercise footpath, swimming pools, cafes, gymnasium, business suites and multipurposed hall.

The zone main level podium has a large footprint extended out from the condominium to create the parkland condominium effect.

Masjid Sujud (Mosque of Bowing to God) by Azhar Zainal Abidin

Sujud is the act of low bowing or prostration to God during the Muslim prayer while facing the Kaaba in Mecca.
At this point, the forehead will rest on the ground. Whether King or Commoner, one will be in this most humble position during a sequence of prayer.
The Masjid Sujud architecture reflects this prostrate position and expresses this imagery over the background of landscape and horizon.
A simple visual message to accompany the call of prayer is expressed by the architecture together with the auditory azan (prayer call). When relayed to the surrounding areas, it evokes an emotional feeling for the Muslim community and perhaps even touches the non-Muslims.
Against a backdrop of the setting sun, this image evokes a sense of serenity, forgiveness, gratefulness and appreciation of all of God’s creation.

Software used: SketchUp, AutoCAD, Enscape, Photoshop

PAM - DBKL Competition 2014 for Homeless Shelter | 2nd Prize

The design of the Shelter is to create lively and uplifting spaces for the homeless and for ease of interaction with charitable volunteer groups running the Shelter. The emphasis is not just on the buildings alone, but also on the spaces created in between them. The perception of enclosure heightens the feeling of community and security in defining the Shelter.

Four modules of accommodation, each housed in a 6.6 metres wide, 15 metres long and 3.6 metres high enclosure, make up the main activity centre of the Shelter. These are then linked to each other by circulation walkways around a Central Energy Tower. The Central Energy Tower also acts as a beacon for the homeless.
