Danien van Niekerk is a fully qualified decorator with a diploma in Interior Decorating and Introduction to Draughting from INTEC College. After she finished her diploma, which took four years of self-study dedication, it was time to take a break, travel and explore different careers. Among which included, event and wedding planning and she also managed and promoted local bands on the side. In the
two years that she was busy with all the above endeavours, decorating was always in the back of her mind. This time was well used in organising her thoughts and she soon came to realise that there was only one line of work for her and that she had it spot on from the start. Dare Interiors was officially started in January 2012 and was fortunate enough to find work easily. Since then we've worked on two projects in Swakopmund as well as one in Windhoek and one close to Mosselbaai in South Africa. The house in South Africa is a completely self sustaining, eco-friendly house in the middle of Vleesbaai bush, sand and sea and is the most up scale project that we've done to date. The house has been in magazines for it's beautiful location and has won awards for it's design and architecture. The event and wedding planning experience helped Danien a lot when it came down to planning the projects and getting the work done on time. Apart from decorating and redesigning interior spaces, Danien loves bringing a whimsical flair to all her designs which from time to time include outdoor spaces, gardens and furniture. Dare Furniture is a side project of Dare Interiors where we make/restore pieces of furniture. We have a workshop that produces everything from small decorative items to big one-of-a-kind custom pieces. This is where real passion comes gets involved, as we love saving things, on their way to the dumps and transforming them into something completely fantastic.
