Dear sir/ma
I’m Bamidele Adeboye, I ordered/request a ride via bolt app from agric bus/stop to dolamu street,egbe, lagos. At exactly 09:56am 05/10/2024.
A driver accepted my request and came for pickup, immediately after the pickup while I was already in his car he gave me some conditions.
First condition, he said he wants the ride to be offline. Though is not advisable for my safety but because am out of time I have no choice than to accept offline, I accepted to make it offline immediately the ride was cancelled.
Second condition, he said I should add to the charges from #12,000+ (twelve thousand naira plus) to about #15,000 (fifteen thousand naira). Immediately he said it I told him jokingly that I can’t add to the charges while the trip is already offline he can’t eat his cake and have it.
Third condition, I told him to turn on his AC he replied and said, am requesting for AC but I can’t add to the charges he added that is being 3-weeks now that his AC has being turn on last for his rider.
I thought the third condition was a joke not until i noticed he didn’t turn on the AC while I was sweating, I vexed but at the same time control myself by not say anything than to stop him at the next bus/stop.
The next bus/stop was Irawo bus/stop, opposite mobil filling station. on getting there I stopped him, the moment I stopped him while I was about to get down he ask, is it because of the AC that he refused to turn on? But I didn’t say a word than to ask him that how much is my fee from the pickup point to Irawo bus/stop, opposite mobil filling station where I stopped him. He replied and said #3,000 (three thousand naira), I gave him a cash of #3,000 (three thousand naira) to avoid fight nor further argument.
After the stoppage, I request another ride from Uber Lagos. The Uber driver try reaching me through normal call but couldn’t get me and decided to call through the Uber app then he was able to reach me, immediately I picked up his call he told he has been trying to reach through normal call but I was not picking I told him I didn’t see his call. After ending his call I checked my pocket to bring out my other phone which he said it was ringing which I didn’t pickup.
Unfortunately, can’t find my phone in my pocket that was when I realized I forgot my phone in the previous ride which was Bolt due to the series of conditions he gave me which lead to the stoppage. There is no way I could get the bolt driver because he reached me through the phone I forgot in his car.
I explained to the Uber driver and he directed me to Bolt support via Bolt app.
Moment later, I used the Bolt support to lodge my complain I was assured that the driver will return my phone to me soon. But through out that day my phone was not returned to me.
About 01:43pm 06/10/2024, the driver message me on WhatsApp more than 24hrs after my phone has been with him. I gave him an address so that he can return my phone and gave me another condition that I have to pay him for him to return my phone.
Most painful part, he messaged me on WhatsApp about 06:54pm 06/10/2024 that he was about to switched off my phone that my clients has been disturbing him with calls and I have to come to Ebute Metta to pickup my phone.
I will never recommend Bolt for my enemy
Bolt look into this matter and ensure justice is being served, this is not funny at all.
