Humanitarian Gesture; RT. Hon Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Esq donates Twenty Four (24) computer laptops attached with an external hard disc and modem to 24 orphans......By Ibn Garba.
The MHR representing Marte Monguno Nganzai fed. constituency and chief whip of the green chamber, RT Hon MT Monguno, Esq. Popularly known as Baba Mai Gonar Mota and also known as Humanitarian Lawmaker donates 24 computer laptops attached with their external hard disc and modem through the Borno state government to the 24 orphans of Mariri orphanage boarding school, Kano. The said 24 orphans that benefits are selected from the 27 LGA of Borno state.
Declaring the occasion open, Hon MT Monguno who duly represented by his administrative director and SSA to the State governor, Hon Abacha Ma'aji said, my principal, received a complaint from the Borno state committee on orphans students that our orphans studying at Mariri orphanage school are looking for his assistance academically. And because the academic activities of the 21st century solely lie on e-learning, RT. Hon MT Monguno directed me to present these 24 laptops with their hard disc and modem to the Borno state ministry for women and social development for formal presentation to the orphans.
I can't round up my opening remarks without recommending the effort of our governor, HE Prof Engr Babagana Umara Zulum, mni, FNSE, he is the only governor that is having sleepless nights, going nooks and crannies of the state for humanitarian assistance. That is why RT. Hon MT Monguno is copying from him. All that MT is accomplishing is just supplementing the efforts of Gov. Zullum. Said Hon Ma'aji.
Speaking at the event the Member BOSHA representing Marte at the statehouse, Engr Mohammed Gambomi Marte, FNSE said, this gesture by the RT Hon MT Monguno to wipe out the tires of orphans is a very welcomed development, taking into consideration the economic situation we are in now. And the 21st-century era is a computer base era, and everybody needs a computer to pursue his or her education. Providing these computers to the most needed people that no one is going to do for them is not a small thing. RT Hon MT Monguno gesture is beyond the activities of a legislature. I will also want to commend the efforts of President Muhammad Buhari and also our state governor, HE Prof Engr Babagana Umara Zulum for working together to see peace has regained to the state. May President Buhari and Gov. Zullum succeed. Said Engr Gambomi.
The member BOSHA representing Nganzai state constituency, RT Hon Sheikh Mohammed Ali Gajiram in his remarks, said that he witnessed such a gesture from RT Hon MT Monguno on various occasions more than 87 times in the year 2020. Where more than 14,000 people from his constituency and beyond benefited. He also urged the beneficiaries to make use of the system judiciously. He added that the computer system is Alpha and Omega in learning and I am sure today if we ask our parents to buy us a computer which amounted to over N140,000.00, I don't think if they can afford to get it for us. What do you think about these orphans? Here we have a gentleman (Hon MT Monguno) who volunteer to give our children and the orphans a set of computer which is brand new. May Allah reward him abundantly. Said Hon Gajiram.
Other speakers at the event are, the chairman Borno state committee on the orphanage school, Hon Mohammed Sheriff Mafa, the chairman of the Zullum mandate group, Alh. Malum Bulin, Alh Gadau Ali SSA.
While closing the occasion, the Hon Commissioner Borno state ministry for women and social development, Hon Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo on behalf of the Borno state governor, said, it is because of you (the orphans) His Excellency arks me to come here. It is because of you, your father RT Hon MT Monguno gathered us here. I am representing our caterpillar and so dynamic leader, HE Prof Engr Babagana Umara Zulum, and I going to talk as a mother to these orphans because their educational needs, welfare, well-being, and other needs lie solely on my ministry and support from good samaritans like you.
On behalf of the HE, I want to thank our benefactor, RT. MT Monguno. And before that, I want to appreciate the governor of Kano State Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR for his benevolence and generosity in providing the facilities and supporting these children are giving the best in education, despite the fact that, these children are not indigenes of Kano state.
And without enabling environment which has been given by his excellency Prof Engr Babagana Umara Zulum we couldn't be here, so we must appreciate and continue praying for this administration. Captured in 10-point agenda, one of which is education by HE.
These children are orphans. Most lost their parent as a result of the Boko Haram insurgency. Alhamdulillah, through our governor, our federal and state legislatures, and stakeholders, we are able to push these children up to this level. We are grateful to all of you.
The beautiful, great and wonderful achievement and intervention by RT Hon MT Monguno have been tried articulated but we can't say it. We may not talk from his constituency, but we are conversant from the excellent programs initiated by the lawmaker. We remain eternally grateful for that and we know the Almighty Allah will reward him abundantly. Said Hon Gambo.
Hon Gambo urged the beneficiaries to read hard and be law-abiding citizens. She also urged them to be respectful to their elders. And also vows to revoke the system if they felt to perform well academically.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Hassan Wakil Abacha thanks the lawmaker for the gesture, the ministry, and also thank HE for allowing them to leave as if they were not orphans. According to him, this computer will serve two purposes. One, for their academics, and two for empowering them. We can use the computer for a business center to cater our daily needs. With this, we are going to be independent Insha Allah. I wish RT Hon MT Monguno the way he helps us, may all of his dreams come true. Said, Abacha.
