"Architecture is a frozen music", without sound but with rhythm. A dancing/sculptural Architecture, a building rotating without physical rotation.

A building conceptualized to help spread light and shadow, with its pixelated micro-terraces that provide sky gardens at the edges of the building on all floors, help to condition the native ambience with the central green atrium and light shaft supporting the interior air quality and cooling to reduce the urban heat island effect and making the building passive.

The open-air infinity swimming pool with water cascades at the top of the building create a conditioned ambience and it also helps for water recycling by serving as a rainwater collector for the grey-water system incorporated in the building to enhance the building water optimization.

The Photovoltaics incorporated in the glazing generate the required energy demand of the building supported by wind turbines and biogas.it

Name: ALANTAKUN (The Spider)
Project: Proposed Cable Bridge
Status: Concept
Client: Confidential
Architect: ÀSÀ - c4d
Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Alantakun is a biomimetic cable bridge that mimics the structural balance of spider and its web. This is as a result of a study carried out on the anatomy of spider, majorly its appendages and cephalothorax.

All eight spider legs are attached to the cephalothorax, If they are punctured or lose a leg, they risk losing their pressure and literally deflating. This means every part of the spider is critical to it survival. The body load of the spider is concentrated at the center of the system and structurally supported on its legs which fan out for balance and easy of movement.

The form and principle were mimicked in the design of this proposed Cable bridge(Alantakun). The appendages were mimicked to serve as the main structural system for the bridge and the spider web as tension(Cable) supports for the system. The entire system is braced for resistance as well as stability.

Alantakun is a proposed Cable bridge designed to link a newly designed Island ( a proposed new generation city also designed by ÀSÀ-c4d) to a major road in Lagos.

"Architecture in Motion". A building conceptualized from human movement with the Yoruba Cultural regalia for men (Agbada). The building is a bioclimatic tower. The cantilevered terraces help to reduce the direction sun rays and heat in order to improve the indoor thermal condition with floor to soffit fully glazed curtain walling. Each lettable office space can enjoy atleast two views of the city.

The terraces are with lush green gardens around each floor which provide therapeutic and relaxation arena for users of the building to cool off and refresh during the working hours. It also serve as a place for social gatherings and meetings to foster business relations.

The tower features photovoltaics incorporated in the glazing, the wind turbines on the roof, wind turbine trees, biogas with low - energy/smart mechanical and electrical systems help to optimize the energy consumption of the tower.
