In April / May Ammar Abo Bakr spent over 1 month painting in Amsterdam Southeast. Jesper Buursinkk and Sangiorgio Dallajee made a curious video about the artwork and in particular the reactions and ideas of people from the building and opposite buildings. This video was made in collaboration with Mohamed Hamdy.

Egyptian muralist Ammar Abo Bakr has spent over four weeks painting this Hakfort mural in Amsterdam. The image is a result of a collaboration with film director Mohamed Hamdy. Both artists are working on a film which will carry the title ‘Perfumed with Mint' and tells the story of the actual generation of youth growing up in a world full of uncertenties, searching for direction and meaning or the other way around.

This image is one of the scenes of the film, which takes place in a surreal-dreamlike setting that illustrates the reflection of the search for identity strolling through cultural, mystical, spiritual and historical stories, symbols and icons...

Ron lives in the Hakfort building and is happy with the new almost mural :”It really cheers up the neighbourhood! I would love for it to be lit up also when its dark outside. Like a floodlight shining from the top of the wall...”.

R.U.A Street Art Tour

We have transformed the H-Buurt in the Bijlmer, Amsterdam into a big outdoor exhibition space. The paintings on buildings and objects have turned the neighbourhood into an art space that can be visited at any time of the day. From the 21st of April the R.U.A. Street Art Tour is updated with new art works. With the mural on Hakfort by Egyptian muralist Ammar Abo Bakr as the freshest newest one.
