⚽️ Bijna klaar voor de aftrap in Linter 🇧🇪

Onze architecten Jochem en Roland bezochten onlangs ons project in Linter (België) – een sport- en cultuurcomplex ontworpen in samenwerking met de architectenbureaus ZJA en Arteum en de landschapsarchitecten van

Midden in het open landschap krijgt ons sport- en cultuurgebouw op de voormalige akkers steeds meer vorm en is de afwerkingsfase begonnen.

Straks vinden hier meerdere lokale voetbalclubs hun thuis en groeit de multifunctionele zaal uit tot een vertrouwde plek voor ontmoeting: van voetbalkantine tot decor voor de jaarlijkse Chirofuif, het Mosselfeest en andere dorpsbijeenkomsten.

Het groene talud waarin het gebouw straks deels opgaat, laat nog even op zich wachten — maar de belofte van een gebouw dat samensmelt met het landschap is al voelbaar.

Volgens planning opent het gebouw in het voorjaar. Wij kijken ernaar uit 🌱

🏗️✨ Autobrug Wijnegem genomineerd voor internationale staalprijs! ✨🏗️

De nieuwe autobrug in Wijnegem is genomineerd in de categorie Verkeers- en spoorbruggen van de BENELUX Steel Bridge Contest 2025. Een mooie erkenning voor innovatief en elegant brugontwerp in staal.

Met haar slanke witte boog, geïntegreerde verlichting en open zichtlijnen is de brug een nieuw herkenningspunt langs het Albertkanaal. En dit is nog maar het begin: dit voorjaar volgt ook de 175 meter lange fiets- en voetgangersbrug, volledig gescheiden van het gemotoriseerde verkeer. 🚴‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Onze maquettes zijn weer ‘thuis’. 🏠

Met een vleugje weemoed hebben we onze expositie bij afgebroken. Het was een bijzonder moment om 35 jaar werk te presenteren en terug te kijken op projecten, ideeën en ontwikkelingen door de tijd heen.

Het lichtkunstwerk blijft in deze donkere dagen nog even hangen ✨

En de door ons ontworpen bar? Die blijft gelukkig permanent staan 😊

Door met Zuidasdok!

Sinds jaren werkt ZJA I Architects & Engineers samen met Arcadis, Witteveen+Bos, Arup, Team V Architectuur en SBE als onderaannemer in de vof Ingenieursbureau Zuidasdok (IBZ) aan het grootste infrastructurele werk in Nederland van dit moment: Zuidasdok. Met het aflopen van de overeenkomst tussen IBZ en Zuidasdok op 1 juli 2025 was een nieuwe Europese aanbesteding nodig. En met de beste prijs-kwaliteit verhouding kwam IBZ als overtuigende winnaar uit de bus! A widened motorway in the Netherlands is intended to make a green public space out of a piece of road infrastructure. Today, the N206 Tjalmaweg motorway runs along the same stretch of about eight kilometres, and rapid redevelopment is under way along its course. In 2023, ZJA Architects and landscape architects BoschSlabbers completed an expansion of the road, as part of a publicly funded scheme called the Rijnland Route. The widening of the motorway – it has doubled its capacity from two to four lanes – will in part serve the future neighbourhood of Valkenhorst, where the construction of 5,600 homes has begun on the site of an old marine base next to the N206. But it also pilots a ‘green motorway’ model, which aims to transform the large civic infrastructure project into valuable public space that enhances the adjacent cycle highways, footpaths and habitats for local wildlife.

Prachtige beelden van een unieke gebeurtenis: de Tour de France Femmes door de Maasdeltatunnel! Deze verbinding van de noord- en zuidoever van de nieuwe Blankenburgverbinding (A24) zal eind dit jaar opengaan, maar de wielrensters namen op 12 augustus alvast een voorproefje.

Met grote snelheid raasden zij op een diepte van zo’n 28 meter onder NAP maar liefst twee keer door de tunnelbuizen. Zowel de symbolische opening als de enige keer dat hier fietsers mogen rijden. In december gaat de Blankenburgverbinding, naar architectonisch ontwerp van ZJA, open voor het autoverkeer.

Een betonnen plaat van een miljoen kilo is maandag op zijn plaats geschoven op station Amsterdam Zuid, terwijl intussen de reizigersstromen gewoon doorgingen. De reizigers liepen door de Minervapassage van het station, terwijl het dek daarboven werd geschoven.

Metrodek van miljoen kilo op station Amsterdam Zuid geschoven boven hoofd reizigers

In the Belgian seaside town of Middelkerke, a new building, Silt, is referred to as “the casino,” largely because it replaces a 1950s Normandy farmhouse-style gambling hall, demolished in 2018. However, the project, designed by Amsterdam-based architects ZJA, is a hugely expanded structure that now defines the promenade along the water, containing not just a casino but a 76-room hotel and an 1,100-square-foot event space. It is also a sophisticated piece of flood defense and urban infrastructure. With all of these taken together, Silt provides an example of how Dutch architects (albeit a firm working in neighboring Belgium), conceive architecture and infrastructure as one. The project not only revitalizes the tourist offerings of Middelkerke but beefs up the storm resilience along the short Belgian coast.
