In this renovated farmhouse in Hilversum, the staircase does not feel like an added element, but like a natural part of the interior.

The aged timber beams, warm flooring, glass partitions and natural materials create a calm and cohesive base. Within that setting, the plastered concrete-look staircase moves through the space as a sculptural gesture. Soft in tone, strong in form.

Its subtle finish allows the staircase to sit comfortably within the character of the old farmhouse, while its shape introduces a distinctly contemporary layer. Old and new do not compete here. They strengthen each other.

For interior architects, this project shows how a staircase can do more than connect levels. It can shape the atmosphere of a space and become an integral part of the interior concept.
