We have expanded our assortment with this new series: the P-58 | Pomegranates series.

This hand-painted design is based on an original Delft tile made around 1630, making it one of the oldest ornamental motifs in our collection.

The design features a mix of pomegranates and grapes surrounding a central rosette. Along the edges and corners, additional rosettes appear that reveal themselves when multiple tiles are placed together, creating a decorative and flowing pattern across the wall.

The tiles shown here are painted on our Poarte-A shade and finished with pinholes and a crackled surface, closely resembling the character of the antique original.

Each tile measures approximately 13 × 13 cm (5.1" × 5.1") and is suitable for any indoor wall installation.

We would like to highlight our long-standing dealer , located in Franeker, the Netherlands.

For over 50 years, Regts has specialized in antique Delft tiles and is currently the largest dealers in original Delft tiles. Their collection covers the entire production period of Delft tiles, from the earliest examples dating to around 1570 through to the end of production around 1900.

For quite some time now, Regts has also represented our Poarte reproduction Delft tiles. This collaboration is a natural one, as all Poarte designs are directly based on the original antique tiles found within the Regts collection. Together, we aim to preserve and continue the Delft tile tradition for future generations.

“With selling reproduction tiles, we want to make sure people will still be captivated by original Delft tiles 400 years from now. They allow us to revive forgotten designs while making Delft tiles accessible to a wider audience.” — Durk Regts

We are especially pleased that Regts’s showroom offers the rare opportunity to experience both original antique Delft tiles and our hand-painted reproduction tiles side by side, creating a unique connection between old and modern craftsmanship.

This is one of the newest additions to our assortment: the P-51 | Flowers series.

This series is replicated from original 19th-century Delft wall tiles, featuring a collection of hand-painted flowers, from tulips and roses to carnations, lilies, and wildflowers.

They closely relate to our P-7 | Small flowers collection, but these scenes are based on younger floral designs and are noticeably more detailed, giving them their own character and appearance.

Like all our tiles, each one is painted by hand by our artists, creating subtle variations in brushwork and shading that make every tile unique.

Each tile measures approximately 13 × 13 cm (5.1" × 5.1") and is suitable for any indoor wall installation.

An important part of the production process of our Delft tiles is applying the glaze. This is carefully done by hand by our skilled artisans to ensure an even coating across every tile and to create the smooth, glossy finish Delft tiles are known for.

We currently offer 9 different glaze shades, all directly based on the tones found on original antique Delft tiles. These glazes have been carefully developed by our experts to resemble the authentic character of antique tiles as closely as possible. Alongside these traditional shades, we also offer 3 contemporary shades.

The glazing we use makes the tiles easy to clean and maintain, ensuring they will last for decades, and hopefully even centuries.

Another series has been added to our assortment! This is the P-50 | Flower pots series.

These tiles are replicated from original reclaimed Delft tiles from the 18th and 19th century, featuring classic flower pot designs. It is a very recognizable motif within Delft tile history and closely relates to our P-20 | Flower pots series.

The tiles are painted in a classic Delft blue but it is also available in manganese. Each tile is decorated with a corner motif inspired by the stylized ‘Wanli’ patterns found on 17th-century Chinese porcelain. When placed together, these corner motifs connect to create a decorative pattern across the wall, giving the series its calm and balanced appearance.

Tile size approx. 13 x 13 cm or 5.1 x 5.1 inches, thickness about 0.7 to 0.8 cm or 0.3 inches.

The PCM-10 | Fleur-de-lis series is another iconic corner motif and a very recognizable design from the 17th century.

With its elegant lily shape, the Fleur-de-lis has its roots in French heraldry and became a widely used symbol across Europe, appearing in architecture, textiles, and decorative arts.

When these tiles are placed together, the corner motifs connect nicely, creating a flowing pattern across the wall.

The motif is available in Delft blue and manganese, and can be added on both plain and decorated tiles.

Each tile measures approximately 13 x 13 cm / 5.1” by 5.1” and is on average 7-8 mm / 0.3” thick. All tiles are suitable for any indoor wall installation

We are happy to show you this custom project we contributed to a while back, designed by Meta Coleman.

In this project, our P-15 child’s play tiles were a big part of the design, along with 16 custom hand-painted scenes based on the client’s favorite activities, decorated with the Fleur-de-lis corner motif.

These custom tiles depict scenes from camping and hiking to tennis, gardening, and motor riding, each tile tells a small personal story, making the space truly one of a kind.

Projects like this show how Delft tiles can go beyond tradition, creating something personal while still staying true to the craft.

Each tile is hand-painted by our artists and can be tailored to reflect individual ideas and stories.

The PCM-20 | Ox-head corner motif is one of the most recognisable corner motifs in Delft tile history.

It first appeared in the first half of the 17th century, where the motif was originally larger and more pronounced. Later on, the smaller version, like this one, became more popular and widely used.

Traditionally, these corner motifs were used to frame tiles with a central scene. It was not until the 20th century that the ox-head made a strong comeback as a design on its own, which is what this reproduction series is based on.

Its horned shape makes the motif easy to recognise and creates a beautiful rhythm when tiles are placed together, and it is available in blue and manganese.
