One of the beautiful beaches of Stocking Island, a jogger enjoys her run along the beach while listening to her favourite hits on the walkman :) Intertidal Stromatolites line the shallows along the coast here. They are the oldest living fossils on Earth and can often be seen with algal mats over them as can be seen here, the darker brown areas indicating the algae.

Wild Coffee, Nassau, Bahamas.

This is Wild Coffee, or Coffee Colubrina (Colubrina arborescens). It is in the family Rhamnaceae. Other common names include Green Heart, Snake-bark, Blackvelvet, Bois mabi and Mauby tree. A bittersweet drink is made from an extract from the bark of the tree which is diluted and sweetened. It has some medicinal properties. Teas made containing extracts/leaves/bark from this plant are said to help against rheumatism and said to be an aphrodisiac.
