Our heritage development project The Vuurtoreneiland, done in the collaboration with KRFT architects is nominated for the ARC Architecture award 2017!

Op Vuurtoreneiland is op een kazerne binnen UNESCO werelderfgoed een eiland en draaiend restaurant grotendeels zelfvoorziening gemaakt door een low-tech duurzame infrastructuur. bunkerQ, Gerco Meijer, gave the lecture on using HDM, heritage development model, and talked about the Dutch experience with the heritage development with students and lecturers of University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wroclaw,

PolandW bieżącym semestrze podczas prowadzonego przeze mnie kursu dotyczącego zagospodarowania zabytkowych fortyfikacji zaprosiłem z wykładem gościnnym dla studentów Gerco Meijera z holenderskiej pracowni zagospodarowania i restauracji zabytków (bunkerQ v.o.f.).
Prezentacja dotyczyła autorskiej metody opartej na modelu rozwoju dziedzictwa (Heritage Development Model - HDM). Pozwala ona w szybki sposób oszacować zakres prac i kosztów inwestycji, wspierając tym samym procesy decyzyjne w ochronie i zagospodarowaniu np. zabytkowych fortyfikacji. W oparciu o prezentowaną metodę szacowano wartość inwestycji dla rewitalizacji Nowej Holenderskiej Linii Wodnej.
Studenci mogli zapoznać się też z praktycznymi, zrealizowanymi projektami pracowni m. in. w oparciu o działanie w mikroskali. W ślad za wizjami projektowymi powinny podążać wartości edukacyjne i poznawcze, działające na różne zmysły, nie zawsze wiernie odtwarzane, ale zawsze intrygujące i budzące akceptację społeczną. Not far away from the ruins of the enormous concrete army bunker, two 150 year old Chesnutt trees had to be cut down due to the modernization of the infrastructure. bunkerQ used the ruined bunker as a gigantic container and planted the new Chesnutt tree in it. Hopefully the tree is going to grow big and strong and in the process break the concrete and take the place over.
