Project: Torremolinos, Spain
Concept: Coffee, lunch & bar
Scale: Small-scale hospitality renovation
Inspiration: La Carihuela’s local fishing heritage painting
Budget: Low to mid-range

A complete transformation from an empty space into a warm, characterful coffee, lunch and bar concept. Inspired by La Carihuela’s fishing history, the design combines locally sourced materials, affordable finishes and custom-built elements. By handling selected work in-house and making considered material choices, the renovation remained accessible without compromising atmosphere or identity.

A glimpse behind the scenes at Design Secrets SBS6.

Proud to share one of the modular building systems I conceptualized and developed together with my team. A flexible all-in-one box system, designed as a smart foundation that can easily expand with additional units and compartments : fully adaptable to the needs and lifestyle of the end user.

From the very beginning, this concept was built with Dutch regulations, building standards, and scalable production methods in mind. The goal: to create a system that is not only fast and efficient to produce, but also sustainable, flexible and future-proof.

A new way of thinking about housing: modular, intelligent, and built around freedom of choice.

More than just building.
Designing systems for a sustainable future.

One of my graduation projects, pulled from the old box.
A boutique hostel concept near the Great Barrier Reef, Australia.

For this project, I researched the location, the natural landscape and the organic rhythm of the reef. The design was inspired by round, flowing forms found in nature ; where softness, structure and function come together.

One of my favourite parts was the custom bed design. At the time, hospitality interiors were still often designed in straight lines and rectangular layouts. Thinking out of the box wasn’t as obvious as it feels today.

Now, we see more and more how furniture becomes part of the architecture itself — integrated, sculptural and experience-driven. Looking back, it’s beautiful to see that I was already exploring that direction years ago.

Hospitality design has been part of my path for a long time.
What once started as a graduation concept has slowly become the world I now work in.

VILLA AMSTELVEEN

Project: From empty plot to dream home
2,500 m² of land

A private villa concept designed around luxury, flow and experience.

At the heart of the house stands its defining element: a sculptural circular staircase wrapped around a central fireplace. The fireplace shaft rises vertically from the basement all the way to the top floor, acting as the fixed core — the “tree” of the home — around which the entire design is built.

The vision includes:

• Basement: spa, pool, gym, bar & leisure area
• Ground floor: open kitchen, living & dining area, office, hair salon & master bedroom
• First floor: 3 bedrooms, open void & laundry room

Scope: carte blanche

• Main house concept design
• Plot layout & second bungalow design
• Interior design
• 3D & video visualisation

The design will be further specified and refined by an construction team.

A project where architecture starts from one central element and unfolds into a complete living experience.

A project very close to my heart 🤎

This residential project in Amstelveen was a complete transformation from the ground up. The house originally felt very white and clinical, and my vision was to turn it into a warm,l and soulful home filled with texture, atmosphere and materials carrying a story.

The entire design was fully custom-made : first completely developed in 3D, followed by detailed renders and visualizations before ex*****on started. Almost everything was separately produced piece by piece — from steel to glass to custom details — and eventually brought together on location together with my contractor and our constuctuin team from Poland

For this project i worked together with ,a leading luxury interior brand known for its bespoke leather wall coverings, acoustic solutions, and high-end craftsmanship.

The photography shown in this fragment was captured by ✨

And a little detail: this video is a small part of the Dutch television program Design Secrets on SBS6, where I was followed as an interior designer during the realization of several projects.

Design, for me, is never only about aesthetics.
It’s about creating spaces that make people feel something. It’s art, handcraft, a whole imaginaire world.

A little throwback to a project from Spain and a fragment from Design Secrets ☀️🇪🇸

In this fragment I’m showing how I brought my sketches and concepts to life through 3D visualisation. This was around 3 years ago — long before AI became what it is today — but I was already working extensively with programs like Lumion to create realistic visual renders of my interior concepts.

For me, this always added so much value to the design process. Not just beautiful images, but a way to truly communicate atmosphere, materials, lighting and the feeling of a space before it was even built. What I loved most was that the final result in reality almost always matched the visualisations exactly.

It allowed clients to really step inside the design before construction even started — almost like walking through the future of the space.

This project will always stay special to me because it reflects the combination of creativity, storytelling, technical design and emotion that I love bringing into interiors. ✨
