It's been a while since I posted anything on here. But I've been creative with 3D modelling software called Blender. For those who aren't familiar, the first 8 craft are called Thunderbirds from UK tv series of the same name. The last image is of a space ship called The Liberator from another UK tv series called Blake's 7.

For about the last 4 months, give or take a few days, I began a project in order to expand my skills in creating 3D art. About 10 years ago, I produced a series of images, with the aid of Photoshop, based upon the HG Wells novel: The War Of The Worlds and inspired by the musical album by Jeff Wayne.
I decided to try and recreate those images by producing them using 3D creative software.

For some of the images, I needed to build the models; ie the Martian Fighting Machine, by hand. But some of the models were found on the internet.

I would be interested to hear any comments or feedback you may have

I have trying to refine the use displacement maps in Blender. Believe me before this image was created, I experimented quite a few times. Edison said, "I have not failed. I just found 10,000 ways that didn't work."
Yes, the design is based on Star Trek, but the ship is called USS Trojan and she's a lot meaner than any star fleet vessel could ever be...

So I've been messing about with Blender (www.blender.org) and after watching a really informative tutorial on how to create displacement maps and how to use them on a Blender model, I wound with these alien spaceship shapes. It's best t view from right to left as you will then see how I progressed and gained more experience and confidence. More images will be posted as I create more models...
