It's great to be working with again with a new stair design for a cabin renovation in Lillehammer. The stair and bridge connect between an old log building and new extension. Constructed in raw steal and pine, a central bookcase forms the main bearing structure.

Stairs are among the most complex elements of interior architecture, and often the most rewarding to detail.

In this project, the staircase becomes a central spatial element, connecting levels through a series of solid oak treads suspended from slender vertical elements.

Transformation of an old log cabin outside Lillehammer.

Repaired and protected externally, with exposed log walls inside. A new entrance and stair room connects old and new, forming a generous double‑height space at the centre of the cabin.

In collaboration with and , we recently unveiled our proposal for a housing development project on the former school site in Otta.

Our design prioritizes quality of life, flexible usage, environmental solutions, and flood management. Additionally, we emphasize affordability and local identity, addressing common challenges faced by many small towns in rural Norway.

As the building industry becomes more streamlined, many housing developments are increasingly generic, lacking connections to local history and culture. Drawing inspiration from traditional local architecture, our project aims to be modern and environmentally friendly while remaining deeply rooted in Otta's heritage through its scale, form, material usage, and ornamental detailing.
