Muscle Temple has for the last seven years been popping up as nightclub - as performing art occurrences - as architectural installation. This time the project manifests through a conversion of 0047’s factory premises confusing residential and exhibition architecture, accommodating a curated residency program during the summer and a series of events in the fall. The Residency transforms 0047 into a
loft apartment, reminiscent of the now hyped, but originally precarious living conditions in New York. At the same time the project refers to the initial years of Projekt 0047 in Berlin, between 2004-2005, when its spatial research of gallery architecture consisted of blending housing, production and exhibiting. As part of a curated residency program, artists and curators are being invited to live in the loft apartment during the summer. The interaction between the artists and the installation will serve as a generator for discussions related to the structural conditions for art production, staged through a series of events in the fall.
