Wishing You a Blessed & Peaceful Saga Dawa. May all beings be blessed with good health, prosperity, and lasting happiness.

The SAGA DAWA is one of the most important and cherished Tibetan Buddhist festivals, held each year on the full moon day of the fourth lunar month of the Tibetan calendar to celebrate Sakyamuni's enlightenment. This astounding festival is also known as the Festival for Releasing Living Things, and during this festival, Tibetan people do not eat meat or kill any living things in the fourth month of the Tibetan year in order to concentrate their efforts on worshipping. A legend says that on the 15th day of the fourth month of the Tibetan year, Sakyamuni was born, became a Buddha and died. On this day each year, the people will dress in their splendid attire and sing and dance and have a picnic or gathering in Lingka.

Overland Tour to Mustang.

Journey to the Last Forbidden Kingdom.

Embark on an epic 4WD overland expedition to Lo-Manthang, the ancient walled capital of Upper Mustang, traversing dramatic desert landscapes, deep canyons, and wind-sculpted cliffs. This remote Himalayan region, once a restricted kingdom, offers a raw and mystical adventure unlike any other in Nepal.

The overland journey is another fun-filled, adventurous trip through this fascinating land. The ultimate destination is Lo-Manthang, the capital of the walled city of Mustang. The route entails travelling across desert-like landscapes, barren ridges, deep canyons, eroded cliffs, and moraine valleys. It is a land of barley fields and pasture where sheep are seen grazing and ponies are used to carry loads. The views of the windswept Kali Gandaki Valley, vast spaces around Kagbeni, sprawling ridges, and high mountains provide a mind-blowing experience for the brave adventurer. Note that throughout the route, except for Pokhara to Beni, it is off-road and not blacktopped.

Mustang is still a remote destination, though transport and phone communication have brought this place so near. The facilities available have been developing in recent years, and more hotels are coming up at Lo-Manthang to cater to tourists' demand. The area is still restricted in terms of the number of tourists visiting this region. The government is concerned about the excessive impact of tourists on the fragile social environment and resource-strapped status of this region.
