How was your weekend?
We did something different last night. We joined our first Pub Choir.
Created and hosted by, Astrid Jorgensen, "Pub Choir is an ENTIRELY improvised, comedy music lesson. The show is a euphoric sensation that transforms a crowd of tipsy strangers into a legendary choir."
Did anyone else go or are you booked in for the NZ part of the tour?
In the space of 90 minutes she had 2100 people, many of whom put their hands up as "the worst singer in Auckland" singing in 3 part harmony. Quite a feat.
Pub Choir is currently touring Australia and NZ and is a fun night out with a bunch of friends. The group of 6 next to me were on their 5th one.

A good reminder for us all 😝

When people ask me what I do I now say "I help people create calmer kitchens and become more confident cooks, using practical systems that make real food easier and everyday life more enjoyable. It’s about reducing the mental load around food and the kitchen, so there’s more time and energy for the things that matter."

Because it isn't really just meal planning, organising a pantry, finding a great recipe or showing someone what their Thermomix® can do.

Those are the tools.

What I really love helping people create is more confidence, less friction and more enjoyment in everyday life.

I help take some of the thinking out of “What’s for dinner?”

I help make kitchens work better for the people who actually live in them.

I help people feel more confident about cooking real food — without it needing to be complicated or perfect.

I help find small systems that save time, reduce waste and lighten the mental load.

And perhaps most importantly, I want food and the kitchen to be something that adds to life rather than constantly feeling like another job on the list.

Because food is so much more than fuel. It can nourish us, bring people together, create memories and give us enormous pleasure.

That’s really what Living Well with Steph is about.

Real Food for Real Life — and making the everyday things a little easier, so there’s more room to enjoy the good stuff. ❤️

Had a bit of fun.... inspired by a friend to ask Chat GPT the following.
Please generate an image of how you “see” me. Not just what I look like, but my colour, a song, a place, my values and what matters to me.
Would love to see anyone else's versions. I think they decided to edit my smile for some reason 😆

I’ve been asked to speak alongside two fabulous local businesswomen next Wednesday — and I’m really looking forward to this one. ❤️

Our topic is From Chaos to Calm in the Kitchen, with each of us bringing a very different perspective to the conversation — kitchen design, communication & connection, and, from me, making everyday food life easier.

It also gives me a chance to share a little more about the direction Living Well with Steph is taking.

Over the years, I’ve realised that what I really love isn’t simply teaching people to cook. It’s helping create calmer kitchens, more confident cooks and a little more joy in everyday life.

That might mean better meal planning and prep, a Kitchen Reset to make your space and systems work better, getting much more out of your Thermomix®, or simply learning a few tricks that take some of the thinking out of feeding ourselves day after day.

I'll be sharing some of those ideas — and demonstrating how a few simple touches can turn an everyday dish into something rather special.

And because learning should be enjoyable, there'll also be cocktails, nibbles and some rather lovely giveaways. 🍸

Wednesday 12 August | 4.30–5.30pm
Tickets $20 + GST, including your welcome cocktail (or non-alcoholic option) and nibbles.

If you've been curious about what I've been working on lately, I'd love you to join us.

Happy weekend everyone.
What’s a useful tip you recommend to make life easier?

Mine would be to download the Auckland Transport app so you don’t need to get out and read the meter every time you want to park. It tells you everything you need from the warmth of your car.
So much easier and even more helpful when it’s raining ☔️😊 I’m constantly surprised to see people standing staring at the machine when they could be doing more interesting things with their time.
