Our team completed the shade sail installation at St Patrick’s Primary School in Napier as part of the Get Spotted 2025 prize, in partnership with national charity New Zealand

The project included two new shade sails over the playground, a third shade sail over the seating area, and pole pads fitted to the existing poles for added safety.

At St Patrick’s Primary School in Napier, our team completed a new shade sail installation as part of the Get Spotted 2025 prize, in partnership with national charity Melanoma New Zealand.

After being named the Get Spotted 2025 winner, Riley McKinlay helped secure multiple shaded areas for his school, thanks to his creative colouring entry.

Through our support of Melanoma New Zealand, Lidgard Shades provided the shade sail installation free of charge as part of the Get Spotted 2025 prize.

The Lidgard Shades team installed three new shade sails using the school’s existing poles, helping create more covered outdoor space for students. Pole pads were also fitted to add an extra layer of safety around the shaded areas.

We are proud to support Melanoma New Zealand through Get Spotted, helping tamariki learn about sun safety in a fun and practical way.

Giapo Project Overview:
Giapo Ice Cream, approached Lidgard with the goal of creating a more versatile and usable outdoor space for their customers. While Ziptrak blinds were identified as the ideal solution, securing sign-off for permanent posts proved challenging. To overcome this, Lidgard designed a self-supporting top structure that allowed the installation of fixed panels. These panels were engineered to accommodate removable posts, enabling Giapo and his team to easily install or remove them on a daily basis. Adding a creative touch, Giapo suggested having the panels sign-printed, turning them into both a functional and branded feature. Shout out to for Cube carrying out the signage work.
