Hidden in plain sight, this concealed scullery is a seamless extension of the kitchen, keeping the everyday workings of the home neatly out of view.

Ample storage, flush-fitting appliances, and durable porcelain surfaces create a highly functional space that supports daily life while preserving the kitchen’s clean, streamlined design aesthetic.

✨ New Project Release ✨

Designed as a continuous architectural volume, this kitchen balances clean lines, functionality, and natural materiality.

Timber veneer joinery wraps the space, seamlessly concealing storage and appliances while creating a sense of visual calm throughout. The result is a kitchen that feels less like a collection of cabinetry and more like an integrated part of the home - considered, cohesive, and timeless.

Most importantly, it delivers exactly what the homeowners hoped for: a beautiful space that works effortlessly for everyday family life and entertaining.

This week, our design team had the pleasure of joining for an insightful presentation on the latest trends from EuroCucina 2026 and a preview of new decors in the ever-popular Dekton range.

Nothing compares to viewing a stone slab in person. Seeing the full slab allows you to appreciate the colour, movement, and unique character of the stone. Details that only this beautiful song can portray.

A beautifully curated moodboard is often where great design begins. It brings your ideas together in one place, helping you visualise colours, textures, finishes, and materials before making any final decisions.

Whether you're renovating, building new, or refreshing your space, creating a cohesive palette can transform the way your home feels and functions. By thoughtfully combining elements that reflect your style and lifestyle, you can create a space that feels uniquely yours.

If you'd like a little guidance along the way, bring your interior samples to your consultation. Our in-house designers, qualified in Interior and Spatial Design, are here to help refine your vision, explore possibilities, and confidently bring your dream space to life.

Looking to add flair and creativity to your home beyond the kitchen? We also design and manufacture laundries, vanities, wardrobes and bespoke cabinetry.

The right colour can completely transform a space — and getting it right takes time.

For this project, we worked closely with designer Peta Davy from to develop the perfect green tone for the cabinetry. Three colour iterations were matched and tested on the finished material before selecting the final shade.

A detailed process, but one that made all the difference in the final result.

What’s changing in kitchen design?

Often, it’s not one dramatic feature — it’s the details that make a kitchen easier to live with every day.

In the Pohutakawa House kitchen, two of those details are doing a lot of work: pocket doors and integrated downdraft extraction.

The pocket doors, using the Salice Exedra system, allow the coffee area to be opened up when in use, then tucked neatly away when finished. For spaces that stay open for longer periods — coffee, breakfast, appliances, drinks stations — this can make a real difference to walkways and working space.

The cooktop with integrated downdraft extraction also gives far more flexibility in where the cooking zone can sit, especially where a ceiling-mounted or wall-mounted extractor would interrupt the architecture.

Both systems have been available for some time, but recent improvements mean they are now becoming a genuine option in high-end homes — provided the planning, detailing and limitations are properly considered.

Curious about how pocket doors feel in use? We have the Salice Exedra system in our showroom, where you can see the movement, clearance and detailing up close.

Captured in the height of summer, the kitchen at Pohutakawa House uses rich, moody tones to ground the open-plan living space.

With doors opened wide to the courtyard and low-slung front deck, it flows easily into the wider home and outdoors — practical for everyday use, but equally suited to long lunches, family gatherings and weekends by the water.

Designed by Sam Baxter and Peta Davy , Carlielle was selected to manufacture and install the cabinetry throughout the home.
