Architex NZ

Architex NZ Architex New Zealand Ltd is a practice that was formed in 2006 by sole director André Hodgskin. http://www.architex.co.nz/

André, who established himself as a prominentarchitect in South Africa in the eighties, has introduced an international level of design expertise to his many projects and has developed a strong presence in New Zealand architecture. Architex New Zealand brings together Andre’s experience and background with key architectural staff that share a passion for design, professionalism and thoroughness at

all stages of the architectural delivery process. A professional attitude and agile strategic approach have positioned the practice to carry out a wide variety of projects with great confidence. Andre is a retired board member of PREFAB NZ – and has a personal passion for modular construction and prefabrication. The award winning BACHKIT and more recently iPAD are examples of successful commercialization of prefabrication and modular systems, and have been internationally acclaimed. Over the past years numerous ‘Institute of Architects’ Awards for commercial, industrial, interior design and residential projects have resulted, together with a portfolio which extends to major residential, entertainment, leisure and
educational projects. Clarity of planning, precise detailing and simple geometries result in logical, legible buildings that are desirable to clients throughout New Zealand and abroad.

“Reliable delivery, strong design presentation and commitment to teamwork are fundamental to our attitude.”

The practice values quality rather than quantity, and is selective about the projects it undertakes. Andre personally undertakes all design work which is produced in house, with the ability to outsource documentation allowing the practice to take on larger scale projects, which would otherwise require a much larger team. We work confidently and successfully alongside other colleagues and consultants to ensure a successful result.
