❄️ WINTER READINESS – THURSDAY POST ❄️
DIY window handle fixes… we’ve seen it all 😅
From bits of string and makeshift catches… to handles held together with hope and old screws — we come across all sorts of creative DIY window “repairs” out on the road.
Sometimes the handles are:
• Broken or seized
• Snapped off completely
• Loose and wobbling
• No longer locking properly
• Or just plain worn out after years of use
And while some temporary fixes might “do the job” for a while… winter usually finds the weak spots pretty quickly 🌧️💨
If your windows are:
✔ Hard to open or close
✔ Letting in draughts
✔ Not locking properly
✔ Dropping shut
✔ Missing handles altogether
…it’s probably time for some maintenance.
The good news?
Most window handles, catches, friction stays, and restrictors can usually be repaired or replaced without needing new windows.
We work on aluminium, and older and newer joinery styles — and yes… even the weird and wonderful DIY creations 😂
