Another successful A+W NZ + Architectus Speed Mentoring event is behind us!

Yesterday we hosted another edition of our Speed Mentoring session, and the turnout was fantastic. It was wonderful to see so many young professionals connecting with experienced architects, asking questions, sharing ideas, and gaining valuable career advice.

A huge thank you to all of our mentors for generously giving their time and supporting those at the beginning of their professional journey.

The A+W•NZ Dulux Awards 2026 celebrate excellence in the architectural profession and related fields by supporting the three main aims of our non-profit organisation: fostering connections, visibility, and inclusivity. We are committed to removing as many barriers as possible for as many people as possible, and the awards are structured to celebrate the contribution of a broader sections of our community.

With three award categories, the A+W•NZ x Dulux Awards foster the generosity that exists in New Zealand's architectural community and seek to highlight those whose excellent work is sometimes unseen.

📢 Research Participants Wanted

Have you worked as a woman professional in New Zealand’s construction industry? Your experience could help shape a more equitable future for the profession.

AUT PhD candidate Sheena Bassi is seeking participants for a research project exploring the impact of cognitive biases on women working in New Zealand’s construction industry. The study aims to better understand how workplace experiences and career progression are influenced by cognitive biases and to develop evidence-based recommendations for improving gender equality across the industry.

👷‍♀️ Who can participate?
Women professionals working in New Zealand’s construction industry who have 3–5 years of leadership experience within the industry.

💬 Participation involves a 45–60 minute online interview via Microsoft Teams, where you’ll be invited to share your professional experiences and perspectives.

🔒 Participation is entirely voluntary, and all information shared will remain confidential. Interviews will only be audio-recorded with your permission, and all identifying information will be removed from the research.
