On Monday, our recently completed school, Te Kura Rai Iti Primary School, was officially opened with a beautiful dawn blessing and pōhiri led by Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki. It was a moving and meaningful morning, and a special opportunity to celebrate the collective effort behind this project.

We would like to thank the and for entrusting us with the design of a building that celebrates students, teachers, and the wider community who will use this space for years to come. Our thanks also extend to FORM Building and Developments and the wider project team for their dedication and commitment in delivering a successful outcome.

A special thank you to the Principal, Libby Slaughter, for your ongoing support and thoughtful input throughout the design process - your collaboration truly helped make this project run so smoothly.

We were also honoured to be joined by Education Minister Erica Stanford and local MP Rima Nakhle in marking this important milestone.

ASC is off to an exciting start for the year!

Our first two weeks back included an office site visit to Ormiston Junior College’s Stage 2 project, where we’re proposing a new two-level teaching block. The development will deliver 25 new teaching spaces, two learning support spaces, and a multi-purpose hall—all designed to support modern learning.

The project is tracking well and is on course for completion in July 2026. Watch this space as the project takes shape and progresses through to completion!

We’re excited to share that construction is well underway on the new Stage 2 teaching block at Ormiston Junior College!

The sub-structure is complete, and structural steel is now going up on the new 25-teaching space block, which also includes 2 dedicated learning support teaching spaces. This significant addition will provide modern, flexible learning environments to support the growing needs of the school and its students.

We’re proud to be working alongside Southbase Construction to bring this next phase to life and support the future of education in the community.

Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses!

As architects, we really appreciated the opportunity to visit Rendered Futures – Drawing Architecture at Objectspace’s Ockham Gallery, with a tour generously led by director Kim Paton.

The exhibition brings together architectural drawings from the past five decades – from the final years of hand-drawing through to today's digital render culture. It was fascinating to see such a rich mix of technical drawings, sketches, and expressive works from across generations of Aotearoa architects.

Exploring how drawing continues to shape and challenge the discipline reminded us of the power of mark-making – not just as a tool, but as a way of thinking and seeing. Thanks to Objectspace for an inspiring afternoon.

We’re proud to celebrate our team members Yvette Loubser and John Broadchoi, who represented ASC Architects at Father’s Kōrero—a powerful and much-needed event hosted by A+W NZ and the School of Future Environments at AUT.

This event opened space for meaningful conversations around fatherhood in architecture, highlighting the often-invisible caregiving work that underpins balanced, inclusive, and sustainable careers.
Yvette and John’s presence and insights contributed to a rich kōrero about how shared caregiving, workplace flexibility, and visible support systems can help reshape our profession for the better. From graduates to practice leaders, it’s vital we continue to reflect on how we can foster healthier, more inclusive environments for all whānau.

Ngā mihi to A+W NZ for championing change and creating space for these important conversations.

We are proud to celebrate the official opening of the newly completed teaching block at Colwill School in Massey!

This exciting milestone includes a new two-level, 12-classroom teaching block and the addition of a modern, purpose-built Arohanui block—creating inspiring and inclusive learning spaces for students and staff alike.

Although construction was completed over a year ago, it’s a privilege to now formally mark the occasion and acknowledge the collaboration and dedication that brought this project to life.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this vision a reality.
