Maybe you grew up there. Maybe it's where you spent summers, reconnecting with friends from the summer before and teasing each other about how much you'd grown.

Maybe it's where you met someone wonderful, got married, raised the kids, bought your first bach... or just spent one spectacular weekend that you still remember to this day.

I think one large piece of artwork almost always looks better than lots of little pieces.

It gives a room somewhere to breathe.

It creates a focal point.

And strangely, it often makes a room feel bigger, not smaller.

Of course there are exceptions...

But if you're standing in a room wondering whether the artwork might be too large...

It probably isn't.

We often hear stories that have nothing to do with art.

"That's where Dad taught us to fish."

"We got engaged there."

"That's where we took the kids every Christmas."

It's one of the nicest parts of what we do.

A print becomes much more than something to hang on the wall.

It becomes a reminder of a place that means something.

Is there a New Zealand place that instantly takes you back to a special memory? Maybe it's this one - Pauanui.

Every one of Steve's pieces starts long before it gets to the store. Some locations take ages to get right.

He might visit half a dozen times and walk away without taking a single photo because the light isn't quite there, the tide isn't right, or the weather hasn't done what you hoped.

Then one morning everything comes together for just a few minutes.

That's often the image that eventually becomes the artwork.

Looking at the finished piece, it's easy to think it all happened in an instant. In reality, it can be the result of years of returning to the same place, waiting for that one moment.

Our usual turnaround time for printing, framing and delivery of a print is about 7-12 business days. Sometimes a customer has left it a little late and needs it URGENTLY, such as (in this case) for a birthday gift. We get a kick out of being able to help, even if it means personally delivering it on the weekend, gift wrapping it, or going on a short roadtrip!
