“Adding extra features was never a problem.” That’s what you want a client saying about a build.

Paving, edging, full planting and a new lawn.

One team, start to finish, every adjustment sorted.

“Joseph and his team brought my vision to life. They communicated with me every step of the way. Whenever I wanted to add extra features to the garden, it was never a problem.”

Great view off this Ōrākei property. The backyard wasn't holding up its end.

Liaising with the engineer, extensive retaining went in. Poles, walls, then drainage.

We craned the digger in. No other way onto the site.

Tight access like this is common in Auckland, and we've got ways around it.

Bulk bags of material also came in by hiab and fed the rest of the build. Garden walls, full planting, and a putting green out the back.

You won't see the retaining in the finished photos. It's the bit holding everything else up.

"Joseph and his team installed a large exterior landscaping project at our home. They were very responsive, excellent communicators and professional. Highly recommend them and would work with Joseph and the team again."

Retaining to putting green. One team running it, start to finish.

We hand-laid every stone here twice. The first time matters more than the second.

Before any mortar goes down, we lay the whole job out dry. Every piece sits where it’ll end up. Then we walk it, you walk it, and we shift what needs shifting.

Top three reasons we do it:

1. We sort the layout by eye before anything’s set. Colour variation, joint width, and pattern flow. We shift one, step back, shift another, until the joints flow and the colours sit right.

2. We check the pile before we touch it. Crazy paving needs big slabs, mid pieces, and small fillers. Wrong mix, wrong look. We sort the whole pallet at dry lay and make sure we're not short.

3. You sign off before we commit.
Walk the dry layout with us. Rustic spacing like the one in the photo, or tight formal grout lines. Choose the look while we can still move things.

Throwback to one of our favourite installs from a number of years back. An oceanside property where modern dark timber architecture and schist stonework set the stage perfectly.

The hardscaping does the heavy lifting, which let us keep the planting soft and layered.

Here's a shot from early stages post installation, before everything filled in.

Same front yard. Same spa. Whole different feeling.

The lawn was patchy, the deck was tired, and the space felt cluttered.

Now it's functional. Kwila deck, integrated step lighting, and built-in bench seating. They've now got an outdoor space fit for entertaining.

"Really happy with the entire process from quotation to end product. Joseph and the team was so professional and worked really hard on this project making small changes at my request along the way. I was so impressed with their work I add an extra project to create a safe space for a fire pit, it was easily added to the scope. Lightning was a great final addition!"

Built in bench seats are one of those details that make a deck feel finished.
This Vitex seat wraps the corner and makes the space feel more like a room and less like an unfinished deck.
The corner table creates an inviting spot for a drink in the sun.

Not every outdoor space needs to host fifteen people.
This is a small patio off one of the bedrooms. Open the door. Step straight out into it.
Pavers set in gravel. Two Japanese maples to soften the black walls. Black retainer to match the back fence so the whole property reads as one job, not a patchwork.
The point of this space isn't to look good in the holiday photos. It's the first hour of the morning, before the kids are up, sitting out with a coffee. Or the last half hour of the day, with the bedroom door slid open.
Most landscape jobs stop at the deck and the lawn. Ours don't. When we design a property, every part of it gets thought through. A small patio like this one is part of that thinking.
Same team. Same plan. Whole property, all in one job.
