Un viernes en la noche nos arrancamos a mahurangi regional park para ver auroras boreales, las condiciones eran óptimas, baja contaminación lumínica y lejos de la ciudad, los reportes predecían un avistamiento esa noche, sin embargo el color en el cielo era muy leve al ojo humano, logramos captar de forma muy sutil un color violeta cerca del horizonte, pero a pesar de todo la noche y el cielo nos sorprendió gratamente! ✨

Con el celular de Marcelo .rastus en modo “Astronómico” logramos tomar estas hermosas fotos en donde se ven varias constelaciones como Orión, Tauro y sutilmente galaxia andrómeda, además estábamos en época de algas luminiscentes por lo que en la orilla de la playa al pisar se marcaban huellas celestes

Lo más importante de todo es que lo pasamos bien y fue una hermosa experiencia, comiendo papas fritas y tomando algo de vino a la oscuridad de las estrellas, muy romántico o no? 🌌

💡Did you know that the Maori people celebrate the new year in June and it is known as ✨Matariki✨?

🇳🇿 Maories are the native people of New Zealand, their culture and beliefs are based on astronomical study and they mark important milestones throughout the year.

🌎 For them, the new year is related to the reappearance of the Matariki star cluster in the deep skies of New year. This event denotes a new season for sowing and harvest.

🌌 Matariki is currently the only native holiday in New Zealand, already recognized three years ago, and there are 3 main keys for celebrating this day:

✨The memory: It is about remembering and honoring all those we have lost this past year.

✨ Celebrate the present: It means coming together and sharing gratitude for what we currently have.

✨And finally, looking to the future: Setting intentions and thinking about what the year ahead will look like for you and those around you.

Hi guys! 🌙

I want to tell you a little bit about me 🤭

🌓 My name is Camila and I am Chilean currently based in New Zealand.

🌒 I am a self-taught artist, I started painting two years ago learning through youtube and everything I saw on the internet.

🌑 What motivates me to paint is to transmit what I feel when I look at the starry sky, a beautiful sunset, or the pictures taken of nebulae by satellites and by people like you and me. The colors and their depths tickle my stomach, make my soul vibrate and make me want to transport myself to those warm places.

🌘 Most days I practice and try to learn new things, but also most of the time I don’t know what I’m doing, anyway I’m proud of my results no matter how long it takes me to do it.

🌗 I have a lot of ideas in my head, a lot of projects that I would like to do and everything feels like a whirlwind, but well, let’s keep doing it!

🌖 I just want to thank the people around me for the constant support and love that in moments of frustration are the most important thing for me.

🌕 Thanks to my friend for taking these beautiful photos and for all the words of support, tqm.

🌔 Well, if you read to the end thank you for your time!
