While most people know us for native restoration on farms, that’s not all we do.

As one of the largest native plant growers in the Waikato, we also deliver large-scale commercial projects, including stormwater ponds, swales, and constructed wetlands.

These projects aren’t just about planting - they’re about getting the right species, in the right place, for long-term performance.

If you’re working on a commercial development or infrastructure project and need planting done properly, we can help.

We’ve pulled together a quick overview of what we offer - you can download it here:

Backing the next generation of farming + environmental leaders 🌱

We’re proud to introduce our Future Farmers Environmental Scholarship - a $2,000 grant designed to support those who are passionate about improving the land they work on.

This scholarship is for individuals who:

* Have a farming background
* Are studying (or planning to study) in the environmental field
* Care about practical, on-the-ground outcomes

At Restore Native, we work alongside farmers and landowners every day who are looking to do better - whether that’s improving waterways, planting for biodiversity, or setting up their land for the future.

This scholarship is about backing someone who wants to be part of that change.

If that sounds like you, or someone you know - we’d love to hear from you.

Apply here: https://www.restorenative.co.nz/scholarship/

Awesome to see sites like this coming together using simple, practical native planting approaches.

By using tough, functional species like Carex along waterways, we can help stabilise soft ground, improve water quality outcomes and create long-term, low-maintenance planting that actually works in farm environments.

This is a project we’re really proud to be part of, working alongside landowners and council to deliver planting that fits the landscape and performs over time.

Good restoration isn’t about overcomplicating things.
Often it’s about using the right plants in the right place, and working with what’s already there.

If you’re looking at waterways or wet areas on your property and want a practical planting plan that delivers real results, get in touch.

Not every restoration project starts beside a riverbank - some start right up here.

From hill country to wetlands, we spend a lot of time out on farms understanding the landscape before any planting begins. Slope, soil type, exposure, access and existing vegetation all play a part in shaping the right plan.

Taking the time to get this stage right means better plant survival, smarter planting programmes and long-term outcomes that actually last.

Restoration isn’t just about putting plants in the ground - it’s about understanding the land first.

Release spraying in action 🌱

Once native plants are in the ground, the job isn’t finished. Managing competing weeds and grasses through release spraying is a key step in helping young plants establish and thrive.

With our full-service planting projects, we also manage the ongoing maintenance requirements. Some seasons and some sites may only need one release spray to get plants through their first year, while others require more.

In a growthy season like we’ve had, our team has been out doing additional maintenance work this summer to keep grass and weeds at bay and give these young trees the best possible start.

By managing this process and ensuring release sprays are timed correctly, we can improve plant survival and growth, and help set restoration projects up for long-term success.

Planning planting or maintenance work this season? Feel free to get in touch.
