🔥 On my recent visit to one of my favourite Auckland trade showrooms, I was absolutely surrounded by inspiration for upcoming interior design projects! 🏡 I loved these contemporary log-burners and sleek, modern gas fireplaces. 💜Following on from my lighting design post earlier this week, here are more photos of the stunning art-like lighting pieces that caught my attention. From the heavy, hand-sculpted glass curves that catch the light just so, to the flawlessly machined brass and ribbed, translucent textures, these pieces are designed to captivate even when turned off. I love how the unique geometry of each fixture creates its own visual rhythm.

💜 I was captivated by the ethereal glow of these sculptural pendant lighting installations during a recent visit to one of my favourite trade showrooms. By playing with staggered heights and vertical lines, these minimalist tubular fixtures create a breathtaking, wave-like silhouette that commands the room.

💜 The contrast between the soft, diffused light, the refined gold detailing, and that deep, moody backdrop is design magic in its truest form. It’s not just about illuminating a space, it’s about creating an atmosphere that stirs the senses.

💜After one too many close calls with logs landing on my toes, it was time for a smarter solution! With a little help from my very handy builder hubby 😍, we cut the wood into more manageable sizes, restacked the pile, and reinforced everything with metal mesh for extra stability.

💜 And voilà… a much safer, sturdier woodpile ready for the colder months ahead. I’m pretty pleased with the end result and judging by the photo, Maisey seems quite proud of our efforts too 🐾🔥

💜 I can hardly believe it’s been three years since my home was featured in the May 2023 edition of NZ House & Garden magazine, a milestone that still feels incredibly special today. Being recognised in such an iconic publication was a proud moment in my journey as an Interior Designer and one I’ll always treasure.

Interior design has always been my passion. My journey began in South Africa, where I studied at Boston House College Design School before moving into retail design in Johannesburg.

💜 From there, life took me to London, where I worked alongside my builder husband, Sean, on numerous renovations. In 2002, we settled in beautiful Cambridge, Waikato, where I now create bespoke interiors for clients who want their homes to truly reflect their lifestyle.
