Just to let you all know that I am retiring on 17th December.

I’ve loved my job looking after Cambridge Gardens but I am struggling with pain in my feet. I’m fine during the day but at night the pain is intense. I have discovered this is due to the nerves in the top of my feet pinching when I’m weeding and then releasing at night.

I had always planned to retire at 60 but I was enjoying work so decided to carry on. However, In March I turn 65 so it seems like a good time to focus on me and spend more time travelling and enjoying my garden.

Over the last couple of years I have cut down the number of gardens I look after. That means l have more time for my garden.

I have been looking after this garden for 9 years!! Where did all those years go?

Now it’s time for this lovely family to move on so it’s up for sale. It’s a beautiful home - the swimming pool was a perfect addition!

I shall miss my monthly visits. It has also been lovely seeing the children grow up.

As many of you will know I was building a house in Raglan and planning on moving there when it was completed. But things have changed and I can’t leave my garden or my customers in Cambridge so I’m selling Raglan and staying in Cambridge. And although the Raglan house is beautiful In the end it was an easy decision.

Getting this customer’s raised beds ready for this season’s vege planting.

Growing organic veges so that my baby would have a ready supply of veges was my first gardening experience. I fell in love with gardening from the day I picked my first peas and tomatoes and she ate them for her lunch 2 minutes after I picked them.

22 years later I’m even more in love with gardening.
