East Coast Drilling is drilling water wells on larger sections in West Melton to supplement water supplies. Council supply water restrictions are due to limitations on infrastructure, not because of low groundwater levels. Private wells are not affected by water restrictions during summer.

A well can be installed for lawn, garden or even household use if preferred.
