On we go then...
Women and Trees NZ ~ is an exciting new initiative aimed at increasing community, through opportunity, fun and learning, while establishing support systems for women and other minority groups that have a career both in and around Trees. (https://www.nzarb.org.nz/womenandtreesnz)
The intention is that W&TNZ will eventually become a community-driven group, focusing on connection, education and empowerment with the vision of strengthening the industry as a whole by creating a more diverse workforce.
The inaugural Women & Trees NZ Camp marks the first event of its kind in New Zealand, offering a supportive, passionate and super fun environment to connect & learn, and grow the tree care sector as a whole.
Event Details:
Date: April 12β13, 2025
Location: Drifters Accommodation & Christchurch Botanic Gardens
Highlights: A diverse range of workshops covering well-being, risk assessment, plant biology, soils, gear safety, tree climbing, and conversations about the experiences of women in the industry.
This event is designed to foster meaningful connections and make a lasting impact on the future of diversity in arboriculture.
Cost: $60 per person β includes breakfast & lunch for Saturday and Sunday and accommodation Saturday night, you can book Friday night accommodation at Drifters on the registration form. You are welcome to attend even if you choose not to stay overnight. Registrations are limited!
